Is Vergil still gonna use Yamato in DmC?

Are you sure his sword in DMC1 wasn't Yamato in a different form?

Personally, I think he should use it. It just makes it more epic that both of Sparda's sons have one of his swords.
 
If Dante has a sword named Rebellion Vergil will have a sword named Yamato. Those are the sort of details that won't change.
 
I wonder if Vergil will still use Yamato in DmC? Since he didn't in DMC1 I'm curious as to how that will turn out

If you play DMC 3 special edition you can unlock Virgil as he was in DMC 1 and he still used Yamato, it just changed form since his power was corrupted by Mundus.
If anything he'll have a rebooted version of the Yamato. Might not just be a sword in a sheathe though.
 
The new Vergil could be anything at this point. I'm sure he will use Yamato, and don't worry about it not being a katana.
Have you heard of a claymore being named Yamato?

But that's the thing, did Hideki Kamiya say that the sword Nelo used in DMC1 was Yamato? I know if you beat DMC1 you get Yamato as a sword for Sparda.
 
In DMC1 Nelo's sword isn't really important, but I believe they'll go with DMC3 and keep it the Yamato.
 
I can't see a katana being out of place in a contemporary setting. They are probably as well-known in Western popular culture now as Japanese.

To hazard a guess, if Vergil is in this game, he will have a katana, and it will be Yamato.
 
if vergil is in the game and he better be.....than he has yamato hands down.....and thats enough for me i dont care if theres anything else the yamato is more than enough....
 
if he is too be playable you have to make him equal to dante in terms of gameplay and story.

None of this "lets cram a character's playthrough into another characters playthrough" of 4.
or the vergil skin we got in 3.

i'd like that too.....do u think if vergil is in the game he will have a hole story not just 2 cut scenes like 3 did...??:ermm:

It's a nice thought, but if they could get away with just providing a DLC skin instead of a whole new story, they probably would!
