Italy, too. Saw it trending on Twitter today.
I might've misunderstood your point and you probably referred to the strict security measures enforced there, but Italy was confirmed weeks ago, and according to Finnish government, it's a risk zone now and all unnecessary traveling there should be avoided.
'Fun' fact: a friend of mine from the university travelled to Italy in January for an internship... talk about luck, because now he's kind of worried if he will be able to get out of there anymore. We were talking through Whatsapp with him and he told me that the state officials there aren't very informative. He actually heard about the quarantine zones in northern Italy from me before the authorities, and I had read about them from the Finnish newspapers. After that he got a message from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland telling him to comply with the instructions from the Italian healthcare authorities and to avoid panic. The actual quarantine zone information from the Italian authorities reached him hours after me, Finnish media and government

Can't stop watching them crabs though...
Agreed. That is... hypnotic. O_o

Oh, no point. I didn't realize they had cases in Italy, only a few... but from what I saw on Twitter, it's gone into full lockdown.

This incessant thrumming in my ears can stop any day, now. (I really should look up what might be causing it. Increase in blood pressure, maybe. Or some other stress-related thing (though I feel like I'm handling things pretty well, so the gods only know what internalized crap is inflicting this on me).

I've started to really consider changing my flight date and departing for the student exchange earlier, since my home university announced that all study-related traveling to the risk zones is now forbidden. There is an epidemic risk zone in Germany too (the state of Nordrhein-Westfalen), and it's on the ban list as well. My destination isn't in that state, but in case it spreads, I just thought that leaving now would possibly prevent canceling the whole thing...

Yup, Finnish universities started to cancel their student exchange programs and forbid their students from traveling, regardless of the destination.

Haven't got the call yet since my own university hasn't announced any restrictions yet (except for canceling events), but it's only a matter of days.

Full panic mode activated in here: the state has banned any events for more than 500 people, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has given strong advice not to travel anywhere, and the government is having a meeting right now about enforcing an Emergency Act due to the virus. The Parliament of Finland has been discussing about closing all schools and daycare centers. Our confirmed cases rate has doubled in the past 24 hours.

And yup, the university has banned traveling regardless of the destination, so now it's official that I won't be going anywhere this semester.

Let's just say vittu saatana perkele. I believe Google might help you with translating that, if you feel it's necessary.

Not a fan of some people I've seen wishing the Corona virus upon certain political figures or hoping it'll "clean up" the conservative voting boomer generation who are most at risk of the virus.
I'm not surprised there are people like that, wishing a disease on a public figure, like people in politics. I was made aware this morning that, Trump shook hands with someone who is known to have Coronavirus... and I immediately knew he has it. Air Force One was infected, too. My bet is people read it, and rejoice. *straight face*

Okay, so you don't like what he does, but Trump is a HUMAN. People think that public figures are robots. Like invincible people who can survive a Coronavirus. That kind of hate is bad, because you don't know that figure.

I hated Bush for his mistakes that led us to 9/11. But I don't wish Coronavirus on him or whatever virus.
Mega Man Zero gave me renewed hatred for "contact damage" (for no reason) and being only able to shoot left or right (any other directions requires a "special weapon").

The stupid thing is how some "retro-style" developers will always have some unwritten law that these traits must be preserved whenever they make a side-scrolling game.

Can't people "modernize" side-scrolling game?
Put away the damn "contact damage", "limited lives" and "shoot left/right only" nonsense?
This is why I'm hesitant to get Mega Man 11.
I did grew up through all that but I'm not getting any younger to brave all this "Nintendo Hard" crap.

God bless the "checkpoint" system they added in Mega Man Zero.
I can never imagine completing the game without it.
I cannot wait for March 11, it's the day I get PSN funds to buy that collection!
I bought Mega Man Zero/ZX Collection for PS4. And, it's as hard as they say it is.

*Rubs temples* Between the people being reductive about the virus and taking unnecessary risks, and the people being stupid, panicky herd animals stockpiling things to the extreme, I just want off this frigging planet.

Yes, it's a serious virus. Yes, it's particularly scary for people with vulnerable immune systems and the elderly. Yes, it's smart not to travel right now, because even if you don't get it or get a mild case of it, you can spread it to other people who ARE vulnerable, might even DIE from it. Yes, it originated in China; stating this is not racist--but being a dick to Chinese and Asian people in general is. So stop it.

People need to get their frigging **** together. Instead of pointing the finger or screaming "we're all going to ****ing die!", use common sense.

Why it's called common sense when it's well and truly not that common, I don't know. But please, for the love of all that is sacred, use it.

**** you, International Office. Seriously. Should've listened to one of my teachers who told me on Wednesday morning to take an earlier flight and leave now while it's still possible.

I don't even drink beer, but tonight I just want to say

cheers

(and also that a sanitary towel wasn't a good choice for horsing around. I had to take that photo quickly to avoid suffocating)

Time to play "is it menstrual flu or C-19?" for the next week. Yaaaaay.

One of these days I'll just have my uterus cut out and everything will be lovely and perfect. Or I'll die, which means I won't have to worry about it anyway. Win/win. /s

While I was sleeping, Firefox changed the hotkeys for "bookmarks", so instead of the usual "Ctrl+I" I'm used to, it's now "Ctrl+B", so that they imitate Chrome.
All the add-ons that can change hotkeys for Firefox are now 404'd.

This reminds me of that I checked my calendar yesterday and now it seems I'm either pregnant or really stressed out. Most likely the latter though. Hopefully, at least...
