I am disappointed yet unsurprised that no one occupying the same Twitter social circles had anything to say on that post, while Tumblr--which is pretty much dead--actually got a couple of nibbles. If there was ever a time for them to be vocal about something, this is one of those times.

I know that some of you won't like what I have to say or the language I use, but here goes...

Look, if you are the one calling me words that spells 'f' 'a' 'g' you should reconsider doing so if you don't want me to insult you back by insinuating that you love men. I have to deal with your poor little man-baby, hand-holding attitude. If you don't want me to insult you, like at all, don't dish it then! If you insult me, expect the worst from me.

End of story, I don't give a **** if you are hurting inside. I don't like ignorant people, I don't like stupid people, and I sure as ****ing hell hate losers.

I just wish people would just stop being a bunch of ignorant idiots.

It is YOUR responsibility if you insult people and you get back the same attitude you dish out at others. ITS YOUR GODDAMN FAULT IF I INSULT YOU.

NO ONE ELSE, JUST YOU.

Thanks to the weather, the trains are effed.

I'm stuck in Birmingham until further notice.

This could get interesting...and expensive.

But it's ok because Boris "the moron" Johnson is going to pour billions of pounds into a high speed rail service we neither want nor need, rather than fixing our borked railway system.

And in the meantime, National Rail has to pay for people to use alternative services or even hotels until the railway line issues are fixed.

Excellent use of resources, clearly...

I'm ill. AGAIN.
Everything's pretty fine as long as I'm sitting here and doing nothing important, it just hurts on my throat and lungs, but I can still speak and write and do things. When I'm lying on my bed I can't breathe properly, and I'm barely able to stand and walk to the bathroom.

I've got an important exam next Monday (not tomorrow, but the next one), I had my personal DL for my current writing project yesterday (it's not ready), I have an appointment for doctor tomorrow in different issues (and it can't be cancelled anymore without a 35 EUR fee) and I've got a course application deadline (which is pretty much unconditional) in 29 hours.

The last one mentioned requires e.g. writing a speech (a good one), so it's not just about writing down some personal information and clicking "submit".

I've got no time for this ffs :banghead::banghead::'(

"Less is more" is something I associate with desperate quotes used by people losing an argument nowadays.

You can't prove that your favorite methods offer more options and flexibility to users, so your brain farts out "less is more" as a final, desperate attack before your ship sinks.

Devs need to patch Denuvo out of their games as soon as they get cracked. What's the point of keeping a DRM, especially one that notoriously hurts performance, once it gets broken? It only punishes legit buyers at that point.

Holy. ****ing. Dumpster fire.

It's pretty bad when you have to do a 180 on supporting someone, because their gripe went from being reasonable to completely insane.

Doxxing is never okay. Ever. The amount of excuses--from believing she was targeted for her half-Italian heritage to it being other women jealous of her (seriously, don't ****ing play that game; yes, there are catty bitches in the world, but to suggest everyone who had a problem with you fell into that category? I just... ****ing hell).

And you sure as **** don't drag someone's kids into the discussion to compare what you've experienced with one person's unsolicited advice and negative review to them being cyber-bullied, stating (and I quote) "I'm someone's kid too, you moron!"

Honey, you're in your goddamn 40s. Act like it. I understood your initial gripe, but this tantrum bullshit right here? Nuh-uh. Even rats know to abandon a ship when it's sinking. If this makes me seem duplicitous, so be it--I'd rather seem duplicitous than be seen rubbing shoulders with a completely unhinged ABB.

Edit: To clarify, I wasn't targeted. I didn't engage in an argument. I just made the mistake of supporting this person back when their gripe actually made sense, and then got to see the whole thing go up in a ball of flames within short hours. In sum, I feel unclean to have ever associated with this person (least of all when there have been warning signs leading up to this). >.>

Developers are trying to keep piracy lower. Some devs are saying "I'd rather have you pirate the game than for G2A to keep ripping us off." Think about why they're saying that. They need money to keep the operation going. Most of the people pirating games don't buy the game after all sometimes, so they lose money anyway. There are some honest piraters, but in general, not most will buy the game legitimately.

I don't think you got my point. What I said is, they should patch Denuvo out of a game when it eventually does get breached and the game cracked. They can keep that abomination of a DRM for as long as it keeps the crackers at bay but my point is, once the pirates crack the code, there's absolutely no reason to keep Denuvo, cause at that point its protection got busted and thus it's useless while still having the bad side effect of hurting performance for the game that uses it.

I could understand when it was first utilized, it was a new software and it took months for pirates to figure it out, and I get that, from a developer point of view, it might not be worth it to make the effort to patch it out of a game after months, when the bulk of the sales is already made. But those times are long gone and Denuvo gets cracked in days now, a few weeks at most, so once it does, there's no point in punishing legit buyers by keeping it in the game and continuing to have it impact performance and **** with framerates. Just patch it the hell out.

And for a broader point, I think they should just stop trying to beat piracy. It's no use, they'll never win that war, there's no magical uncrackable DRM, everything gets figured out eventually, no matter how long it takes. So IMO, just ****ing stop bothering. Piracy can't be beaten. Might as well make life easier for yourself and your legit customers by not including these aggressive, inconvenient protections that only hurt the honest buyer and make games unoptimized messes. It's what CD Projekt has always done. And look at them, they're successful as hell and they make good money without any form of DRM at all.

I like you, man. You're not like those twitter losers who lose their minds over ....FEET. You make a good point about Denuvo's reputation, and I respect it. :)

[For those of you who don't understand the reference up there, there was an uproar over Sigma's barefoot from Apex Legends.]

Guess I'm not allowed to have an opinion challenging the status quo. Heaven forbid I make an ambiguous thread about authors behaving badly, doxing/harassing readers over low-star reviews. And the hysterical part? Not a single person who replied angrily even sprang to mind. I didn't even know who they were! I named no names; I couldn't even remember the names of more than two when I wrote the thread--just the conversations I'd been following closely between those talking about policing reviews (readers without verified purchases shouldn't be allowed to and the like--which is a big "WTF?" in my books; because I guess borrowing from the library--and I swear I'm not making this up, one of them said it--is taking money out of the pockets of authors. What. The actual. ****?) and generally any and all combative behaviour toward readers leaving honest reviews.

Guys, I know I've said it before, but Twitter is a ****ing dumpster fire. I defend readers rights to say their piece in the spaces they should be allowed to without fear of reprisal, and I get raked over the ****ing coals.

I hate people today (though not you, forums. I love you guys.)

Today might be a good day to scream some lyrics...

Youngest nephew getting chickenpox, presumably from a birthday party.

Hope it's not from some anti-vax parent's kids...

That's not how ChickenPox work. You have to be infected virally from another kid. It affects parents sometimes, but only when the pox is strong enough to infect the parent. But for most of the time, chickenpox affects kids more than they do parents. So if your nephew got it, it's because another kid was infected with it. Happened to me when I was little. Now I am paying for it as adult. Shingles down my veins.

The best revenge is when you know someone's trying to get a rise out of you and not giving it to them. If they think I'm going to react to that ****, they're in for some serious disappointment. I've dealt with far worse than their sad attempt at revenge over hurting their author buddy's spun-glass ego.

Assuming it wasn't a sock-puppet account, because I seriously wouldn't put it past that person. They've already showed their whole ass regarding that issue--what's a little more, right?

Awesome work!

That means the karma was backfiring into his face more than he knows. That's why you never associate yourself with people who will stab you in the back later. That's what it sounds like happened.
