I wouldn’t mind being the go-to guy for covering for people at my job. But when I’m the go-to guy for covering for people at both of my jobs.

I would like a life besides work 24/7.

Now I really like Switch. But game prices killing it for me :/
Blame Nintendo themselves, not the cartridges. Those "cartridges" aren't exactly that expensive, it's just Nintendo.

That's actually a good thing. That means, both bosses "like" you, and want to prioritize you over the other staff. This actually leads to promotions if you play your cards right. Do a good job, keep being the "go-to" guy, and you'll land where you want to be in time.

@Carlos - I understand that both bosses look to me which means they obviously think highly of me. However, I do have other responsibilities as well as work and I don’t care to be working 24/7 for most of my extra cash to be taxed and the rest on bills. I’ve worked lots of extra hours before and rarely see the benefit from it. Besides I’m quite happy at the moment with the amount of hours I have and more just means I have less time to have a life of my own.

Some dude got mad at me for not getting Spider Man (PS4) at the time. This happened last month. I was finishing my pre-order for FotN: Lost Paradise. He's that type of guy that thinks any popular "AAA"/Open-World game are "da betz gamez eva". I told him, that is your opinion and I don't care. He clammed up after I took his example and deconstructed it and pointed out the flaws. Plus, I couldn't get Spider Man at the time, due to budget issues. Fella got to eat and pay bills. My brother gave the game to me as a thank-you gift for helping him move and set up a marbel table my neighbors gave him.

Don't worry about those "taxes." If you take the overtime, which is what you're describing here.. especially on two jobs, you get more money that way. Think of it like a secret salary. Any time you get overtime, you are paid twice the amount that you get on your normal pay. Any time you work on a holiday, same thing is true. Managers hate these because it eats into the budget, however it's good for YOU. This was how I got extra 300 dollars each paycheck. Almost to the point that I got a paycheck of $700 to $1000 at some times.

Many employees look down on overtimes, but you are actually rewarded here.

Last December, I got an extra $100 because of President Trump's "christmas present." (Ahem; Tax Cuts.) This is why you vote for a Republican. Some retail chains pay extra based on how long you've been there. Technically I've been at my company for a long time, but in reality, I left last time, and then returned, so I couldn't get the extra $500 or $1000, like some folks did. That means if I worked two jobs, and stayed there for a long time... Guess how much I would've gotten, despite the tax deductions? $2000. Yeah.

.
Not blaming cartridges, since all other games are priced normally. Only exception are first parties and exclusives and also "tax". But yeah, nintendo is nintendo and they keep high prices for as long as they could.

@Carlos - I live in the UK and I don’t hear anyone saying that they get extra pay for overtime or working bank holidays. Going back a few years now I would, but all of those extra incentives are pretty much gone nowadays. We seem to have this notion that the more that someone earns a month the more they should have to pay in taxes. And companies don’t want to pay out the extra money like they used to, so working more hours ends up actually being a bad thing. It means I’m doing long hours, being constantly tired, and have next to no social life whatsoever.

I wouldn’t really complain if I saw a benefit from it in my pay check, but this simply isn’t the case.

Okay, now I look stupid. Meh.

I did not realize that you were from U.K., or I forget. Either way, I apologize for that. At the time of the post, I didn't realize that Europe has problems with employees, taxes, and pay scales. This video below educated me...

That would explain why GDPR exists, to compensate for the fact that they've been driving out Google, Facebook, or any other Silicon Valley company from that part of the world... I don't like GDPR, I think it's trying to set website owners up.

Why wasn't Dragon Ball FighterZ nominated for best music or best audio at The Game Awards? It had way better music than the other nominations, and the sound effects and dialogue are definitely better than the others too.

I certainly remember "JUST LOOK AT MY SPEED" and "YOU'RE THE ONE WHO'S GONNA DIE" better than i do any line in Spider-Man or God of War, and yet those got nominated.

Cuz, IMMERRSSSIOOONNNNN! I like the new God of War, and it had a good soundtrack. I liked FighterZ ost, but don't remember as much.

Seriously who cares about the Game Awards? Most of the time it's either reviewers, publishers/developer and other gaming media sucking each others genitals, patting each other on the back, or trying too hard to suck up to the general public and prove that games can be taken "seriously" and are "more than just video games". I stop giving a **** when they refused to give Bayonetta 2 any awards in 2014, because the commitee said she was offensive and an embarrassment. F@ck you dickwads. Bayonetta 2 was GOTY in 2014 in my book.

*frantically raises hands, hopping around* I do! I DO!

*whispers* Game reveals, man. Game reveals.

And interesting company politics at the show. A way Out C.E.O. cut a promo about Oscars, Hideo Kojima couldn't be there, and provoked a loud boo from the crowd. Stuff like that...
