Lain
Considering the new showrunners previous written episodes in DW, I don't have much hope either.
Innsmouth
exactly :/ I dunno what he done to deserve his place

He has expierence as a showrunner on broadchurch and torchwood and its a different skillset than being a staffwriter.
Lain
The problem is that the showrunner still has to write the majority of episodes per season and Chibnall's previous entries aren't filling us with confidence. Also, Torchwood is kinda terrible imo.

@Lain I'm not arguing the quality of scripts, I'm just saying he has expierence as a showrunner and thats why he got the job.
Innsmouth
with that logic you can say Uwe Boll has experience and as such can direct next Avengers

No what i'm saying is he got the job because he put in the hours and did the work and became dependable enough with his other shows that BBC decided to take a chance on him. Same with Moffat and same with Davies.
Innsmouth
Moffat had good credentials, being behind most prominent episodes in Davies time. But this guy directed couple of episodes long ago and all of them turned sour.

I'm just saying that his career in tv outside of dr who helped get him the job. Same with Davies when he was getting the revival off the ground. Davies's other expierence with tv got him the job more than his work with the Dr who novels.
