SW Rebels' final episode has been announced for Feburary. It'll be a sad farewell, & I'm hoping the next animated series is just as good.

Hopefully this will be a necessary kick in the butt in making sure that the third film is handled properly.

"China isn't important for Hollywood." RIIIIGHT...that's why they set one of the Transformers films in China, so it could become the highest-grossing film in the country's history...and why the race of Dr. Strange's mentor was changed from Tibetan to white so the film could be released there, and not clash with Chinese politics? Clearly, China doesn't matter. Give me a ****ing break.

So TLJ bombed in China due to "being an insult to audience's IQs, and the main actors not being attractive enough." https://goo.gl/3AWnE4

I'm more curious as to how the hell they both survived her crashing her ship into his and causing them both to explode. For all the film's constant hammering that Poe Dameron is the "reckless hothead who doesn't think before he acts", Rose seems to fulfill that role in even worse ways.
The 1st night of New Year is supposed to reflect how you wish to keep living. Naturally, I spent mine marathoning the Star Wars Prequels.

You want to live in a CG megalopolis?
    WolfOD64
    WolfOD64
@Ash I think you mean a Megalopolis made largely of minatures and resin models with CG traffic? Because that's what Coruscant largely was, FYI. https://goo.gl/U3wU1p

Oh, and living on Coruscant means potentially living near the Outlander Club in the planet's criminal underworld from Episode II, with all the Death Sticks and Twi'lek poon tang I could ever want, so...hell yeah, I'd love to live there. If Nar Shadaa isn't already taken.

@AgentRedgrave I read leaked synopses a week before release, detailing the entire film from start to finish. I know everything that happens in the film--I was never planning on paying to see it on principle, but when people were claiming it was worse than TFA. And guess what? Everyone was absolutely right.

I have to admit despite rock-bottom expectations going into Justice League, it wasn't that bad. Not good, but not "Suicide Squad" terrible.

@Lain I wouldn't know...I never plan on watching the Last Jedi. That would be far too risky to my health. And even without seeing it, I can already guarantee that Justice League is infinitely better...for no other reason than the fact that it wouldn't insult my intelligence nearly as much.

In all serious, I do think that this increasingly strong focus on making "cinematic universes" is hurting films. I can't even enjoy MCU films anymore because of it. -_-
    WolfOD64
    WolfOD64
@Lain I can definitely sympathize. The earlier MCU movies benefitted from the fact that they were excellent standalone films, and didn't rely so much on references or universal characters to remind us that it was part of a shared universe. And while I don't hate most of the modern MCU films (MOST of them), they definitely reek of that.
"B-But....MUH BOTS!!!1!" No, morons...people legitimately hate the movie. Now conjure up a new excuse. https://goo.gl/xxVxrW

Sometimes people just gotta suck it up and just say "Even though a lot of people didn't like it, I still do, and that's all that matters." I've been doing that for two years now with BvS. It's really not hard.

^I've been doing it for fifteen years with the Prequel Trilogy of Star Wars. I've been accused of all manner of things, from "not being a true fan", to "having poor taste in films"...being in the minority never changed my love for those films. Better yet, the resentment towards them often means a lack of competition when it comes to collecting merch for them. :D

I’ve never had a problem admitting to things I like. I mean, they’re things that ‘I’ enjoy, why should it matter to anyone else? I haven’t got to argue or explain myself if I just like something.
I love how Disney apologists are writing off TLJ's bad reviews as "trolling." By that logic, the last decade of prequel-bashing is trolling.

I'd be good if he did a Superman film, but I don't want him touching Batman at all after saying he'd want to go back to the Adam West style of Batman. Let Adam rest in peace you dumbass.

I like Matt Vaughn's style from what I've seen in the Kingsman movies, but I'd like to see him tackle more pulpy genres like Westerns, or Fantasy. Push that over-the-top envelope where it works, y'know? Plus, with everyone these days preferring Batman remain lodged in a dark, brooding, self-indulging manner, I don't know how welcome Vaughn's tongue-in-cheek approach will be.

Oh, there is. They actually opted to try and differentiate itself from past films and pursue original ideas. The problem is that every single idea is poorly-conceived, insulting to established lore and characters, and wildly-inconsistent with what's been established before. It's an even poorer understanding of SW than Jar Jar Abrams' film...and I didn't even think that was possible.

What I meant was, this movie doesn't even qualify as an actual film, therefore making it unworthy of even critiquing in the first place. It's such an unbridled mess that even giving it the benefit of the doubt by pointing out its flaws is a waste of time. It's nothing BUT flaws.

All I have to say regarding the Last Jedi & the backlash against it: I F^CKING called it, and you all deserve EXACTLY the film you got.

I already know what happens, and the film turned out to be the exact, undercooked ****show that I always said it was going to be. Everyone said to wait and give the trilogy a chance--well, with some fans that have been around since '77 denouncing this film objectively as the "worst in the franchise", it's safe to say I'm not alone.
