  • Far From Home teaser seems fun. They really went for that classic Mysterio design, fishbowl and all. Here's hoping the movie delivers.

I predict it'll be better then Homecoming (not a hard feat really) but I have a feeling it'll pale in comparison to Spider-Verse.
If someone told me 6 years ago that out of all of DCEU's properties, the one about the fish whisperer in yellow pajamas would be the first to cross the billion dollar mark, I'd spit in their face.

I guess all that talking to fish paid off.

Have to give credits to WB for one thing: they were goddamn hellbent on properly launching this universe. I thought they'd pull the plug after JL, but they toiled through and it looks like they're finally making it.

Granted, it is still early to tell, but recent developments have been quite promising.

I haven't seen Aqua Man yet, but everything I hear about it is positive. Really glad to see that it's doing so well. I'm also part of the minority of people that enjoyed Justice League. :O

I admit, some of the reviews for Aquaman are nuts. Like that one guy who complained about too much CGI. Apparently, WB should have dug for the real Atlantis instead of that green screen ****.
Is it just me or is Will Smith getting progressively worse? He used to be my favorite human being but now almost everything he spits out is raw cringe.

he's not as big a star as he was, i'd assume he's coping with it, making him seemed rather different for us.. plus he was in suicide skuad

Yeah. It's not really his fault, though. The producers keep putting him in ****ty movies. They're actually devaluing his brand.

Because he's trying to keep himself relevant. I think Will, much like Keanu and Nicolas Cage, just enjoys acting regardless of whether the film is bad or not. He's just gotta find a successful niche and he'll be set.

They got James E. Jones to voice Mufasa in the remake but they replaced Jeremy Irons, who is also alive and well, as the voice of Scar. What the hell, Disney!

Oh man. Jeremy Irons as Scar was pretty much the best part about the original Lion King for me and I'm sure a fair few other peeps. Here's to hoping that Disney are able to cast someone with a similar level of creepy intensity. :O

@Rebel Dynasty yeah, I meant Mufasa. Fixed it.

@Steve they've cast Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar a.k.a the lead in 12 Years a Slave. I'm not a fan of the decision, to be honest.

Not the first time Disney did a dick move like this. They're replaced Scrooge McDuck's original voice actor, while acting like or making him think he would be in the new version.
If Detective Pikachu ends up being good, it could finally be the breakthrough live-action films based on anime AND videogames needed.

I personally can't wait for it even though I'm not a Pokemon fan at all. It just seems like a load of fun and very faithful to the 3DS game it's adapting, I might add. They even got that storyline about Pokemon going berserk in there.

@Teal @Lain I'm hoping the movie ends with Tim becoming a PI with Pikachu.

I have a feeling that if this movie succeeds, it could open up possibilities for Ash and his pikachu to appear in a standalone film.

They ruined Avatar. They messed up DBZ. Now Hollywood's going for the jugular with a live-action My Hero Academia. God help us all!

Maybe the fact that its about superheroes might help ease the transition?

It'd be better to just make it set in the US with completely different characters but it being set in the universe.

@DragonMaster2010 has a good idea. I thought about a similar approach for Persona, Digimon, Kingdom hearts and Ninja Gaiden. Maybe just figure out what America is like in the My hero academia world ? Use the creator as a consultant?
Saw Venom earlier this afternoon. The Venom-Eddie dynamic carried the film. Everything else was utterly terrible. It still wasn't Catwoman levels of bad so it has that going for it, I guess.
Tom Hardy just said there are 40 minutes worth of his favorite Venom scenes left on the cutting floor. This is gonna pan out to be another Suicide Squad, I can feel it.

That does not bode well. Every time a movie has a bunch of scenes taken out, leaves much of it to be desired. This is a WB move.

Yep. Never a good sign when the lead starts distancing himself from a movie a week before it's release.

I actually was looking forward to it after I saw that clip with Venom fighting SWAT. But now I'm back on firewall mode after Hardy's statement.
Dark Phoenix trailer looks cool. Let's hope it's more Logan and less X-Men Apocalypse in terms of quality.

I'll look forward to it until the MCU gets their hands on it and remake that awful Avengers vs X-men event.
I like how in the movie Tag, a comedy, Jeremy Renner is more of a superhuman than in The Avengers.

Such is the power of being a relevant character-- er, I mean, Ultra Insti-- er, never mind...
Aaaand Henry Cavill just left DCEU. This week's been a rollercoaster and it's not even over yet.

This was the worst. I had become of fan of Superman BECAUSE of this dude and MOS/BvS. Now that he's left I don't have the energy for any comic book film universe anymore.

@DragonMaster2010 he might not be out yet. Things are really fuzzy at the moment tbh. His manager said there's hope, but WB gave a very non-answer in their official statement. It might be a Ben Affleck situation where they're afraid of backlash.

I'm torn. I want to see more of the Cavillman we saw in JL, but I also want him to take over as Bond in the future.
Didn't expect the new Spiderman game to be so dark. Like damn, if it wasn't for Spidey's upbeat attitude, this would straight up dethrone the Arkham games in terms of dark tonality.
I'm glad Henry Cavill's getting more exposure lately. I loved his performance in Fallout. I'm not even a Witcher fan, but now I want that TV show to be good.

He did a good job there too. Unfortunately, that movie fell under the radar so they never got to see his suave acting skills.

Obviously I loved him in Man of Steel where I first heard about him. However, him playing The main Witcher dude is gonna be interesting.
After taking a peek at the Voltron fandom, I'm starting to think shipping was a mistake.

It's more people underestimated how attached fans can be. Fandoms are like being in a relationship with an insecure person. The whole DmC debacle or Infamous 2 redesign of Cole are similar things. Sometimes people take things too far.

I'll defend DmC to death but at least I got why people were lashing out at Tameem. Change makes fans uncomfortable. I thought SC Blacklist was a major disappointment because the game lost it's identity after all the unnecessary changes.

That said, caring so much about fictional character 1 and 4 and their sexual tension, which in many cases is non-existent and just a construct of their imagination, is dumb asf.

Oh buddy, trust me; you're only gonna dig deeper.
Yo, there are comic book scenes where Bruce Wayne spreads theories on Bruce Wayne being Batman to de-legitimize any suspicion and straight up admits to being Batman in court because he was under oath but nobody believes him because it's absurd. Why were there no such scenes in any Batman movie so far?!?!
It just occurred to me what a risky career move Tropic Thunder was for Robert Downey. That movie could have gone wrong in so many ways.

I've often thought the same. Though to be fair (and if I recall correctly) wasn't his character supposed to be playing the part, and everyone else was supposed to know that he wasn't really black? It's been a long time since I watched it. ._. Mainly because I didn't find it that great to begin with (I'm not big on Ben Stiller).

@Rebel Dynasty, whatever the context behind his character, wearing blackface in a Ben Stiller movie while still trying to make a clean break from your drug addict persona takes some guts. Glad it eventually worked out for him, though!

    Definitely dangerous ground, no doubt. I'd forgotten he was going through substance abuse problems at the time, too. ^^;
