Devil May Cry Anime and Pre Site Opening

Capcom announces that its popular DEVIL MAY CRY video game series is now a new anime series that will start its broadcast in the spring of 2007. The announcement was made on September 23, 2006 at the TOKYO GAME FESTIVAL. The official series website pre-opened that same day, and contains a short promotional art image video of the series, and we have translated the information on the official site for your reading pleasure.

It's based on the DMC novel. I found a copy at Hastings. It will explain the giant Rebellion, the bar, the little girl and Morrison, the guy in the blue vest.

As for the timeframe; the anime will more than likely NOT match up with DMC3 since it is supposed to be a prequal to DMC, he's using an opened Rebellion instead of Force Edge, and is working out of a bar.

Although it looks like they tried to do some force-fitting into the anime by having Dante use Rebellion instead of Force Edge like in the book. Also the trailer lists voice acters for both Lady and Trish.

Anyhow, I never knew the anime was going to be based on the novel, so that is cool news :)
