What if Sparda was actually evil?

So here's a theory I was thinking of;

What if Sparda was actually a villain the whole time?

Well let me explain: 9 millennium ago Mundus was rising to power right and had Sparda as his right hand man. Well what if in actuality the only reason Sparda was helping Mundus was to reduce the competition of the other demons also trying to rise to power and when it was just Mundus left, Sparda was going to kill him and gain that power himself. However Mundus found the hellgate and with it became immortal, thus making his plans go down the drain.

Later he meets Eva who he initially used for his own goals, but later actually fell in love with her and had decided another plan in the mist of his own love with Eva. This plan required Sparda to leave Mundus and start a small life with Eva and once safe enough, decide to settle down and have kids. These kids would be Dante and Vergil, who were Nephilim, the being that can slay a demon king. Sparda's plan would be to have his sons kill Mundus and rise to that seat of power over all. Eva knew about these plans but didn't know his true intentions to become king and was lied to with him saying to have balance in heaven, hell, and earth.

But those plans fell apart when Sparda and his family was found, and Eva killed. He was indeed hurt by Eva's loss but was still able to go about with the plan and hide the Nephilim boys until the time was right. Sparda ended up storming Mundus's building and challenge him. Mundus obviously wins while Sparda is trapped forever. But little did Mundus know that his plan was going just as planned with his boys to kill Mundus.

After which, he would hope the boys would find him a way out of his imprisonment so that he can become the new king.

So that's my theory.

Yeah I really like that idea, a lot. And it's also very plausible. Sparda having always had evil intentions from the start. Perhaps to go as far as to say that he used Eva, much like Vergil used Kat before also using Dante. And all basically for power.

Ok, but then we'd also have to entertain the idea that Classic Sparda was also evil. Just because DMC1 said that he "woke up to justice," doesn't mean that that's actually true.

And the brighter the flame, the deeper the shadow
if that theory is correct sparda will want to be the next demon king even if he have to kill dante and vergil.he will become the next powerful enemy. Only after escaping the "forever prison". how he will manage that?

I think Eva would be his priority. Becoming King is such a small task. Becoming a God isn't. Eva would be his connection to angelic forces. He would need her powers to squeeze demons into submission. Being purified is not like dying, it is absolute annihilation. These two are not trying to be King and Queen, they're trying to become Gods.

Now if they become Gods their beliefs would be welcomed. The way those two came together would make it possible for angels and demons alike to unite. This is not what Heaven wants nor what Hell wants. This is Sparda and Eva's dream. This unity would be enforced by their son Dante until Vergil arrives with a resurrected Mundus.

Vergil's Yamato can seal the Hell gate and also open it. Mundus would need Vergil as Vergil would need Mundus. Vergil being Nephilim and Mundus being untouchable with the Hell gate could cause a truly epic battle. The bigger piece would be the final showdown.

During this conflict, Dante reveals to Vergil that he'd met his son Nero and that Mundus's followers were trying hunt down Nero killing the mother in the process. Dante reveals that the boy lost his arm during the conflict, but is safe within the Order under Kat's supervision. Dante's words trigger Vergil's fury and he shuts off the Hell gate, turning on Mundus just as they are about to succeed with trapping Sparda and Eva again. The two fight until Dante intervenes teaming up with Vergil.

Dante and Vergil manage to defeat Mundus and in the mist of the struggle Vergil is pulled into the Hell gate with Mundus (insert brotherly love before-death quotes). Miraculously, Vergil and Mundus would survive the plunge into the unknown dimension, but stand weakened to face one another.

(Funfact: Original Vergil was injured fighting Mundus).

The two fight and Vergil comes out on top. Before Mundus is killed, he asks why Vergil betrayed him, and Vergil tells him that he knew about his plan to gain leverage over Vergil, the plan to take away Yamato. Mundus reveals to Vergil that he did not send demons after his son and knew nothing of it. That he had only just heard about child just now. He excites an idea in Vergil's mind and asks Vergil, why would someone send demons to find his secret love child when no one else knew of it?

Mundus would chuckle as he coughed up his last words "You can't keep secrets...from *cough cough* family.."

Awesome
If Sparda was actually villain (who knows it could be true) then i guess that's why Vergil was the one who continued his ''dark legacy'' in that aspect
