What I Think Both Control Schemes Should Be

This post has been edited to include the new additions to the control scheme I've created.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Triangle/Y = Melee Attack

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Circle/B Alone = Royalguard [Dante: Circle/B + Forward = Royal Release]

[Note: Royal Release must executed with perfect timing.]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[Nero: Buster/Buster Parry]

[Note: Buster Parry must be executed with perfect timing.]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[DmC: Circle/B Alone = Parry]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[DmC: Circle/B + Directional Input = Angel/Demon Evade]

[Note: Demon Evade must be executed with perfect timing. Otherwise, this function will directly default to Angel Evade.]

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

X Button on Sony Controller/A = Jump/Side-roll/Backflip

[Nero: Table Hopper]

[Note: Table Hopper must be executed with perfect timing.]

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Square/X Button on MS Controller = Swordmaster

[Nero: Aerial Rave/Showdown/Maximum Bet]

[Dante: Hold 2 seconds to execute Drive/Overdrive with Rebellion.]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[DmC: Square/X Button on MS Controller = Launch]

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

R1 = Manual or Toggle Lock-on [Change Function in Game Menu.]

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

L2/Left Trigger = Long Range Attack [Firearms]

[Press the Select/Back Button to change to Gunslinger/Gun Special mode.]

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

R2/Right Trigger = Devil Trigger Distortion/Devil Trigger Explosion [Hold for 2 seconds to execute.]

[R2/Right Trigger = Devil Trigger Extra [Tap after executing Devil Trigger Explosion.]

[Nero: Ex-Act/Devil Trigger]

[DmC: Demon Distortion/Devil Trigger]

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[Tap R2/Right Trigger once to Distort, hold at least 2 seconds for Devil Trigger Explosion.]

[You will only morph into Devil Trigger Form after executing a Devil Trigger Explosion.]

[Note: Devil Trigger Extra must be activated with an extra button tap on R2/Right Trigger after executing a Devil Trigger Explosion.]

[Devil Trigger Extra will awaken Quicksilver and Doppelganger modes.]

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

L1/Left Bumper = Trickster/Darkslayer Air Trick [For Vergil]

[L1/Left Bumper = Devil Bringer (Snatch) for Nero]

[DmC: L1/Left Bumper Alone = Demon Ophion]

[DmC: L1/Left Bumper + Forward = Angel Ophion]

[Trickster's Setup Should Be: Trickster Alone = Air Trick]

[Trickster + Directional Input = Dash/Skystar/Trick Up/Trick Down]

[Knockdown: L1/Left Bumper = Flipper Recovery]

[Note: After being knocked down, activate Trickster/Devil Bringer/Darkslayer/Ophion to execute "Flipper," a Recovery Teleport Maneuver. The animation will show the character moving up off the ground and teleport towards the enemy in quick succession.]

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Select = Switch R2/Right Trigger from Normal Long Range [Firearm] Attack to "Gunslinger Style" Attack

[DmC: Select = Switch R2/Right Trigger from Normal Long Range [Firearm] Attack to "Gun Special" Attack]

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Left & Right on D-Pad = Switch Melee Weapons

[DmC: Switch Angel/Demon Weapons]

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Up & Down on D-Pad = Switch Long Range Weapons [Firearms]

[DmC: Same]

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

R3/Press in Right Stick = Taunt

[Lose the "Center Camera" Function (R3/Press in RS) since almost no one uses it -- especially in the heat of battle.]

[Besides, compared to everything the player is getting at the same time, it's a very small sacrifice.]

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

L3/Press in Left Stick = Cycle Lock-on Target

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Left Analogue Stick = Move Character [Characters will no longer walk in Lock-on Mode.]

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Right Analogue Stick = Move Camera [Change X/Y Axis in Game Menu.]

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Edit:

There are a few things that need fixing.

Here's the new layout for the D-Pad.

D-Pad Up = Cycle Melee Weapons

D-Pad Down = Cycle Ranged Weapons

D-Pad Left = Quicksilver

D-Pad Right = Doppelganger

--------------------------------

And the Yamato for Dante can be its own Melee Devil Arm.

The Swordmaster [Square/X] function for Vergil should be "Spiral Swords" and "Blistering Swords."

The [Select/Back] functions for Nero and Vergil should be Taunt, while [R3/Press in Right Stick] could be Lock-on Cycle (same as L3/Press in Left Stick).

If a mod could edit this post (because my last post ran out of time) then that would be great. Thanks.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This isn't too different from the "official" control scheme.

I would like a keyboard and mouse controls for DMC4 on PC, not just keyboard, like DmC port did. It is possible with a little hack, but an official k&m support would be nice.

Can't list what I would like the k&m controls to be right now, as I'm not on PC. I'll do it later.

Alright then.

---------------------------------

Addendum:

I'd like to remove Devil Trigger Extra from the list.

---------------------------------

Here's the new layout for the D-Pad.

D-Pad Up = Cycle Melee Weapons

D-Pad Down = Cycle Ranged Weapons

D-Pad Left = Quicksilver

D-Pad Right = Doppelganger

--------------------------------

And the Yamato for Dante can be its own Melee Devil Arm.

[Edit: Has since been added to the main list.]

Wait no, I stand corrected.

There are a few things that need fixing.

The [Select/Back] functions for Nero and Vergil should be Taunt, while [R3/Press in Right Stick] could be Lock-on Cycle (same as L3/Press in Left Stick).
