Post any question or anything odd you ever had or known about the DMC story (even DmC) that goes into plot holes (if any exist), any BS, inconsistency, or any question and can even come up with a logical explaination. This spans from not just the games but any anime, mangas, and comics.

Note. People can and probably will reply to them in anyway whether you like it or their replies or not so please discuss properly and elegantly.

I'll start it off as an example:

DMC1 why was there a fully functional (or partially functional) modern day (for DMC's timeline) air plane on Mallet Island....an island that has abandoned human life thousands of years ago...so it seems? Not only its neatly placed there like it was made there. Why did someone came there recently before Dante? Did demons construct it?......well could be since DMC is another universe apparently and Sparda had firearms (Luce and Ombra) before humans had firearm technology. (Ancient demons turning into electric guitars and demonic weapons that are transforming suitcase of hundreds of advanced firearms...Jesus were demons technologically advanced before humans).

    There go ahead folks.

What about the Grenade Launcher you find? Looks too modern to have even existed back when the castle had people living in it. Could have been left in from when the game was going to be a Resident Evil, same with the shotgun.

I wonder how old the castle is.

From what I remember the Island changes location so different people probably wondered around and you find the Grenade Launcher of some dead guy who probably wandered to the island. Just wanted to point that out  but what I want to know is how Dantes office changes I mean in all 4 games we see the interior but it changes from 1 floor to 2 floors in between games also the actual freaking sign in 1 Dante changes it to Devils Never Cry but in the anime and 4 it's back to Devil May Cry, 2 was the exception to this because they only showed the inside of the shop. Also what happens to all of Dantes Devil arms that he gets throughout the series?

Yeah but that is so minor....but yeah it is odd...maybe the amulet just changed color over the course of 10 years of being possessed by Mundus...maybe Vergil painted over it.

Heh....whatever....wait explain it to me....whose amulet's color wasn't the same color in DMC3/1. Was it Dante's or Vergil's?

Also, if not gold what other color was is it in DMC3?

Both amulets were silver in DMC1, while in DMC3, Vergil's was gold. There is also inconsistancy with the story as given by DMC1 and characterization due to differing writers.

But, if you want plot holes...well, I point at Nero. the guy is one massive WALKING plot hole at this point.

If I remember correctly, it was Vergil's which was gold in DMC3 and then "became" silver in DMC1. Or the other way around if you look at it in the perspective of game release date instead of storyline. :)

    Edit:
    Yeah,that. :)

Due to my stubborn belief that people born of a supernatural being[human/werewolf, demon/human] (thank you very much Vampire Hunter D for you being a hybrid as well) age a lot slower, I've been seeing that some people say that Dante ages like the rest of us...but then he's a hybrid...? Mr. Reuben Langdon said that Dante is 2000 and something years old and he 'acts' a certain age
    http://reubenlangdon-fc.deviantart.com/journal/FIVE-MINUTES-WITH-REUBEN-LANGDON-Vol-1-215443708
so...what's the deal? Again, keep in mind, my stubborn nature will just probably make me always think of him racking up in years while he's still looks the same. Is there like a physical maturity he reaches/reached or something?

Nero..I'm sorry love. Whether you are or ain't Vergil's son, you are an it to me. You plopped down on us and when asked about who your father is, they [Capcom and stuff] basically tell us to go with the 'make your own ending (I forgot about that children's story with that plot...the one where the lady chooses to make her ex-boo go to the lion or his new girlfriend) Like in that DmC artbook, was that idea scrapped or not or are they holding on to it for future reference?

I see Sparda being loose pre-Eva/demon rebellion. Wouldn't be too far-fetched if he had other little cretins running around...

Where did Vergil's sword go between DMC 1 and DMC 4? And how did Agnus and them get ahold of it?

How did Sparda and Eva meet? Honestly Capcom, if you don't want to give us a Sparda game, can you give us a cutscene? I always imagined them hating each other then coming together (Aww, how cute)

Some odd thing keeps niggling at the back of my mind that Capcom didn't think DMC 1 was going to be as huge of a success and then..all this happened. Like...they didn't know/plan this really through. Then again...the people that made it left the company. Really Capcom, you couldn't take your time w/ the game and release animes to tie us over (DMC anime I LOVE you, but I need more guts, blood, demons, people bothering Dante, Dante being bitter)?

DMC is my favorite series, but man I have some quips with it. Hey you can be a fan of something and be a little critical of it.:D

In DmC, how does Eva have red hair, Vergil has white hair (wasn't it blonde before they changed it?), Dante has black hair, and Sparda's...bald?

Word of God from the writers and directors of the games is that Dante and Vergil are in their teens in DMC3(Itsuno gave a range indicating 19), and Dante was 8 when Eva was murdered, placing him him at 28 during DMC1. Sparda's rebellion was 2000 years prior, but Eva's picture on the desk is a modern color photo, so Dante and Vergil are not 2k years old.

At this point, I'm confident is was a side idea that was quickly scrapped because it makes no sense in the timelines given nor with Vergil's characterization, or what little we got in DMC3.

And I've been saying this for YEARS...

It really makes no sense looking to the timeline, but i think that they can fix this easily (as i've explained on another topics, i can link them to you later). I think that they can make Nero be Vergil's son, and i would find it cool if they somehow relate this fatherhood of Vergil and relation with a woman a kickstart for his strong desire for power. It's like hitting two enemies with one swing, if they manage to explain things in a satisfying way.

They would have to be ignoring everything given about Vergil in DMC3, the novels, and the manga in order for it to work even if they DID retcon the timeline. Unless they state that Nero is in fact 3/4 or more demon and not a quarter breed, and his mother is in fact a demon, it still runs entirely against Vergil's character as he sees humans as weak and meaningless insects

No, he doesn't. DMC novel and manga aren't canon.

But that is the point: why Vergil is so frustrated about humans weakness? It could be a greater trauma than just losing his mother, it could be related to Nero's mother somehow, is this that i said that could be related and cross these two issues to make a more deep understanding of Vergil. He has great potential as a character, his personality and way of acting is very unique.

Well, Capcom still says they are, but you know, if that's your stance, then neither is Deadly Fortune, since...you know, Bingo wrote it after he had been given the pink slip by Capcom.

Oh, wait, but you say THAT is canon only because you take it's stance on Nero, even when it out right controdicts the very game it's an adaptation of. As oppose dto teh DMC novel which only has some minor retconned in issues with DMC3, even after Kamiya, while he was still with Capcom, Itsuno, and the anime make it clear the novel and manga are still canon. Oh, wait, according to you, the ANIME, even though directly supervised by Capcom via Kobayashi, is not canon either. Convienent that, you deciding what is and is not canon in opposition to Capcom's stated stances

Moving on; Vergil's frustrations with humans is canonically from his mother's death, though it also probably comes from his observations since Eva was murdered of the moral and spiritual weaknesses of human. I mean, considering he probably ran into a lock of people like arkham, Sanctus, and their kind of humanity, he would have little desire to truely bond or assosiate with them.

Being that the writers of DMC3 and 4 thought little of any real character development and mainly wrote him in as "the evil twin" in 3...yeah. There likley will be no canon answers

In a fan Q&A Kobayashi mentioned that Angus found Yamato near a hellgate he had created. It was broken when he found it and they don't know how it got that way ether. It was a stroke of luck.

And is exactly this what give so much room to explore his frustration and motivations, his mother's death is indeed the only canonical clue we have for him to point out how weak humans are, and leaves it open if he blames himself and his human side for that, so it can be explored too.
