Hey guys,

Just got my AdSense ad-serving privileges for this site revoked by Google because of smutty content postings. Not gonna lie: this is going to hurt me financially - tremendously. It costs me a lot of money to keep this place online, and I only receive a fraction of the money back via ads, but aside from the infrequent (but extremely appreciated) donations, it's the only source of income.

I can appeal, but it's not looking good. My only chance falls on the removal of all offending content, but it seems it's littered all over the place and won't be an easy task. At this point, I don't know what to do.

Whilst I finish my breakdown, I have to ask that if you have shared any images in the past that meet any of this criteria:
  • Strategically covered nudity
  • Sheer or see-through clothing
  • Lewd or provocative poses
  • Close-ups of breasts, buttocks, or crotches
... that you please remove it immediately.

Also: please do not post any more of it. Thank you.

Anything that can be seen - focus on avatars, sigs, pictures, videos etc. If people wish to showcase their work they can always provide others with relevant information in order to find stuff on another site such as DeviantArt or whatever.

Basically guys, if you can go through all your stuff as much as this site allows and edit accordingly that would be an immense help. If you have any problems with editing, get in touch and we can do it for you.

Also spread the word - PM people, make it your status, FB people...whatever. And if you see anything that looks like it will fall under any of the categories of Steve's post above, hit report and/or get in touch with the poster directly and let them know the new state of play.

We realise that this site discusses M-rated games as a matter of course (after all, Devil May Cry isn't exactly Animal Crossing) but alas we do not make the Google Rules and compromising like this is necessary if we want to keep this place alive.

Thanks :)

Gabriel Reyes needs to eat me.
So...no more pictures of the DMC Ladies then? Or any other pictures of women who also dress in "light" garments. Thanks for that one Capcom.

So should I...delete all those pics then in the DMC image boards? I mean it wasn't like they were bent over or had their legs spread or anything but still...

So the Nevan pic I posted in my art thread is probably no go...? I thought it would be okay since... well, the game contains Nevan herself and she's strategically covered nude. But if you want me to take it down I shall.
Damn that was so awesome pick :(

I am just curious but is this like a blanket Google policy - no "adult" content on a site using AdSense at all, now? I was thinking of using AS somewhere but if it's got to be kinder friendly I guess there's no point bothering with my art. Even a statue of a mermaid could be considered "provocative"....

I mean there's no actual porn on this site, right? That I can get but if "provocative" is the description they are giving... that could be... so many things.

Sorry to hear that, Steve. Once this blows over, will we be able to re-post any of the pics that weren't provocative? And like Ieyasu said--that could mean so many things. I assume the exact definition will be added to the ToS?

I'm just wondering, since my signature wasn't even remotely "provocative", and it seems to be down, too.

Again, really sorry to hear you got the brunt of it; if I can make a donation to aid the site, I definitely will.

It's very very restrictive - I don't really know why, especially since the subject matter of our websites is intended for those old enough to play the game. We're even the more stricter ones out there with our no pr0nz policy but apparently that's not enough.

Either way, whilst Steve appeals the decision to see if he can get it revoked, he's put a temporary block on the posting of all images - including hiding the ones that already exist. They are still there, you just cannot see them. If there are images people are especially fond of and cannot get them anywhere else, we should be able to sort it out so that you can save them before they are deleted later.

I know this annoys some of you because you may see it as us censoring you, but our hands are very much tied here. If we want to make the money required to run this place, we have to abide by certain rules too.

So this is why all pictures are temporarily removed?

If it means keeping this site running then it's absolutely worth it.

Oh gees!

I don't know what to say other than I'm sorry this had to happen. :frown: I hope it gets sorted out. If Google doesn't reconsider, do other search engines, like Yahoo, offer the same thing?

Would it help if everyone sacrifices a bull or horse to the Google gods?

EDIT: And in regards to sigs being removed, At least scrolling down threads is faster.
Pages load faster too. <--- looking on the bright side.

Well this sucks and so does Google.
Removed my HSOTD signature, hope this gets fixed soon.

I hang out on the Duke4.net forums and you would not believe the amount of dirty images that show up on those threads, yet that sites ad service is doing fine, maybe you just need to try another less sensitive service.
