All righty, here's what I think! :D

Likes,
-Mudas's look. It makes a lot of sense to make him a well respected guy in society. He can have so much more power and influence that way. So that's cool.
-The facial expressions are well done.
-The music fits the trailer nicely.
-The font used for the pitiful disclaimer and release date. I have that font too.

Dislikes,
-Dante. He acts like someone that would belong on Jersey Shore.
-The scene when he punches the guy to get into the club. Cliche cliche cliche.
-The fact that the combat doesn't show anything new. It's the same moves but with new backgrounds.
-The backgrounds in general are too bright. In fact, I feel like they are using bright colors to disguise how boring it actually looks.
-The music sucks.
-It's so obvious what the game is satirizing; it's nauseating. The game seems to be having an identity crisis. On the one had it's a political satire on the current capitalist system (something I have a problem with in itself). On the other hand it's an immature-teenage-boy-definition of cool getting shoved down your throat. The two halves do not come together nicely. I could respect the game if it was more serious and darker. But it's not. It's so stupid in how cool it's trying to people.

Oh and before anyone say, "But, the original series...!" Stop. I'm not comparing the two. I don't care if/what this game has in common with the original series. I'm looking at this game as it's own thing. That's all.

Berto, I think you should just sit this one out. You don't seem to like anything about this game, so maybe one of the future games will appeal to you or you can play the old games, but why stick around this part of the forum when you don't like the game? I don't say you aren't entitled to your opinion, of course you are, but there is no reason for you to be here if you don't want to be here. I wouldn't stay around a forum about a game I didn't like either, it's like putting your hand into a jar of scorpions and not wanting to pull it out, but rather keep telling people how much it sucks. Pull the hand out of the jar and spare yourself the misery.
Please don't misunderstand me, it is not because I don't want you around and I am in no way trying to make you leave if you don't want to, I just don't get why you are around when you clearly don't like the game. Maybe you could explain it to me?

Sorry, I didn't see this.

But seriously. We all have a stake on the status quo and be it this or the original it's still DMC and the effect it'll have is important to the franshise so like it or not it's still of my interests and been of my interests here I am.

For the record, and I've said this before, I categorize this as a rather expencive piece of fan fiction, that's how I tent to view it.
To illustrate my point better:
Hey, it may taste like a warmer cup of tobacco chewer's spit, but it's still beer, damn it.
-Griffin

Don't get me wrong, I still don't approve.

Yeah, you can't be around something you hate, then act so surprised at the fact that you dislike it. And on top of that call yourself a mere skeptic when you're obviously hating on it. You can't even deny it as no one would be bothered to believe you at this point.

And for the love of Christ Almighty, use a spellchecker when you come up with a title for a thread at the very least. That misspelled thread title will be around...

First of all, I've NEVER called myself skeptic nor have I ever made any false claims of it. Infct I've made it obvious and clear that my possition on this game was on the negative side of the scale and have never made any statements that contradict that but I keep it civil because that is the way adults behave. And while I'm aware not all of us are adults I think we can all agree that this is a place of discution and when everyone agrees it's not a discution.

As for the spelling:

Just for the record, it's spelled discussion ^^
And I think that we need some people who have negative opinions on the game. Makes things a lot more interesting.

I totally agree with those.

On the others... well, I don't dislike the music... I'm not a big fan either. Dante comes to me as just a regular street boy who likes to joke around and be an a-hole to some people. The game IS very obvious with the stuff they want to "slap in the face" at, but I think that's what makes it rather unique.

And not going to "but, in the original series" thing but just about every single video game tries to use what makes their franchise unique and "make the game cooler" using that. So, essentially, DMC has always been about badass fighting with a stylistic character who likes to mess around and act cool while he does. So I think NT sort has to, as you say, try very hard to look cool or else their advertisement of the game would suck XD They take their chances with what will get the majority of the fans hooked...else the game will look very boring... like any other hack-and-slash... which is what I think your point is, that without this "acting too cool" feeling, the game will be pretty much boring.

No, I don't think I will. Second languages are no excuse for writing in such a manner.

Meg, I think you just brought some of that "Skeptic hating back.":p

ON: TOPIC: Everyone knows I LOVE this game to death and everyone knows I'll totally get this game, But I do agree with some of the claims of the skeptics. Meg's comment makes note on some of those things. All in bold I agree with.

I'm sorry Meg, but can you rephrase this, please? I can't really tell what you mean. I sux at reading.

I do agree with the satire showing and the cocky boy thing not fitting at all. However I think that's what makes it special. I mean a cocky immature guy much like DMC3 Dante, set in a corrupt demon controlled city, where everything is not what it seems. Because these two things don't work is why I'm totally hyped for it. While for others I can understand the skepticism. While it is nice and badass, it's not showing the vibe that made DMC what it was. Tameen said it would be like DMC, but it's slowly but surely drifting away from the normalness of DMC. In my opinion, it really SHOULD be named something besides DMC but it's not, it's still Devil may Cry, just like DMC4 is Devil May Cry.

What you're talking about isn't capitalism. It's crony-capitalism. Corporatism. Corporate Fascism. Whatever you want to call it, it's communism pretending to be capitalism. It's hiding under the guise of Wall Street and is funded by fiat currency (which is printed money that has no value because it's not gold standard) printed by the Federal Reserve.

The Federal Reserve pretty much funded all of this with their debt-ridden monopoly money pretending to be valid when it's not worth the paper it's printed on.

John. F. Kennedy created the debt-free dollar, and look what happened to him.

And Occupy Wall Street was co-opted by the far left to bring us that much closer to communism--and, in turn--slavery.

True free markets have only liberated people. Believe me, socialism or communism is not the answer. The economy is doing worse than ever because 40 million Americans are on food stamps. So, we're already a socialist country when you think about it. The government is broke, we can't afford to keep up this system anymore.

However, none of this would have happened if the true free markets weren't put to an end to begin with. (exporting jobs overseas, for example) False markets like carbon credits were put in their place.

This game has a Libertarian and Progressive view, not a Far Left one. Targeting Fox News is a staple of those who want improvement, and not just " forced-equality" (communism) for everyone.

When did we jump to politics?

When DmC decided to make a true, neo-classical liberal (that's Founding Father liberal, not Big Gubbermint liberal) statement.

Actually, it started when Meg said she had an issue with Capitalism. I just thought I would clarify that we didn't have True Capitalism in decades. Maybe since 1913, even. (the year of the founding of the Federal Reserve)

Technically, it isn't even about politics. It's about survival. We're slowly being poisoned and being put more and more in debt every day. All for the sake for depopulation, which is ultimately the end goal of the Bilderberg group, which isn't even the 1%. It's the 0.0001% that not even the Elite know exist.

I wnder if they had given RE to NT rather than DMC if they'd gone with this political statement route as well. RE seem to be more fitting place for polital ranting.

I'll prosper.

@berto - RE has enough crap in it to put many political issues into the game, and it does bring up some at certain points. DMC is perfect for this because past games are so vague about the world where Dante lives. Hell, the only "citizens" I have seen in DMC appear in the anime. The world also seems to be quite aware of the fact that demons exist.

What difference does it make? Don't talk to me.

So, chaps, what is the name of the song playing during our latest trailer? I have tracked it down to 'Sent to Destroy' by Combichrist, but I've also found a Northborne remix of the same track. Or is the version used during the trailer a different, specially made version for the game?

Thanks.
