Do you have to finished DMC3 before you can access the Vergil content?

I noticed it doesn't seem to be available on the first play through.

Haven't got an answer but please post threads in the appropriate sections - they get put in the "what's new?" list regardless of which forum, so you don't need to put everything in the DmC section so that people will see it

No problem - to be fair there are plenty of boards out there that don't show threads unless they are in the popular sections. Thankfully that doesn't happen here

Depends. if you have the Dante's Awakening original version, then you don't get the Vergil Content, you have to have Special Edition or the HD collection.

Now that I think back, yeah, you're right. you either had to play through as Dante fully on SE, or have a DMC3A save file that was completed and then the game auto unlocked BP and Vergil

Not really.....if you have DMC 3 SE then the cheat-code should be down+right on the d-pad, up+left on the analogues, but you must hold L1+L2+R1+R2 and do it all at the same time and you should hear a gun-shot sound followed by a new voice saying Devil May Cry.

This should activate everything, although I'm not sure if this works on the PS3 and XBOX 36O though?

It does, but it disables saving so you have to play in one go through and then start all over once you turn off
