It's simple the DCEU has been getting mixed reviews, because their films haven't been that great.
Man of Steel, I enjoyed Man of Steel, but even I would say it was a flawed film with issues.
Batman V Superman, the ultimate edition, despite having some great aspects, was just okay

Suicide Squad, I can't honestly speak for, I haven't seen it yet.

@AgentRedgrave, you haven't seen Suicide Squad?! Neither have 16,000 people who signed a petition to shut down RT for giving unjust reviews to DCEU films. There are more things wrong with that sentence than I can shake a stick at.

Those are the people I'm talking about. "They always give praise to the Marvel movies, fail!". Maybe cause the MCU has at worst been mediocre. Heck, the worst MCU movie, imo Thor Dark World, wasn't bad just nothing special.
They seem to forget that one of the most acclaimed trilogies in film belongs to, oh I don't know, BATMAN.

DC already has a solid continuity building in animated movies (one that started with JL: War), and have consistently had the upper hand in animation over Marvel, but their recent live-action outings are pretty shoddy in comparison. It's nothing these fanboys can change.

Ikr?
"DC already has a solid continuity building in animated movies" I've only seen War, Son of Batman, and Justice League vs Teen Titans so far, I enjoyed them. Even before that, I gotta admit, DC does tend to have better animated movies then Marvel

Not that Marvel's animated films are bad, but come on. The Wonder Woman and Green Lantern movies (Seriously, why couldn't they just make that film live action?).
Not to mention pretty much all of the best Batman and Superman stories have been adapted (Not Hush though, then again may be pointless since they did Under the Red Hood)

I don't believe it to be some conspiracy, but I do believe critics are bias towards anything that doesn't resemble the easy to review Superhero movies that Marvel can pump out. Nowadays, I believe that they think in the sense that "if it's not funny, and doesn't have the MCU brand, it's not good."

Plenty of MCU movies have been unfunny. And there have been plenty of Marvel movies like Daredvil, Fantastic 4, and Elektra that are terrible. I prefer Marvel content over DC due to an overwhelming majority of heroes I invest in (as opposed to just Batman), but I won't pretend Marvel hasn't had rancid turds.

I dunno, again, The Dark Knight Trilogy is still hailed as one of the best film series(es? Again plural for series anyone?) ever.

X-Men Days of Future Past was a pretty dark and serious movie, and it's one of the best X-Men movies.

Of the trilogy, most would say the first and second movie were the best ones, while the third movie was the least good.

@WolfOD64 The only MCU movies I liked (so far) were IM 1, IM 2, GOTG, Cap. America: WS, and the first Avengers. Everything else was lack luster to me. Waiting for that Black Panther movie that they keep pushing back for another white bread lead hero -_-

Still, they were dark and serious movies that weren't funny. People love them.

As for the MCU, I'd say the best movies are Iron Man 1, Winter Soldier, Guardian's of The Galaxy, and Civil War

Most were still pretty good.

Cept Incredible Hulk and Thor Dark World, but at worst I'd call them mediocre

I just wish DC would get it's **** together. Marvel cooked a fairly successful Cinematic Universe with B-list superheroes like Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, having handed their bankable heroes to other studios. DC has ALL of them, yet they haven't been able to release one film (outside Man of Steel) that isn't..disappointing. Not inherently bad - just disappointing.

@Teal That's a matter of opinion honestly. Critics are just people with opinions to me (some worse then others) If both BvS, and MoS made a lot of bank and I personally enjoyed what's been put out, then no, I wouldn't call them disappointing.

@AgentRedgrave People loved them cause it was Batman. Critics loved them cause it wasn't a superhero movie persay.
