Always been meaning to ask... how come laws are so damn strict in Germany?

i think it connected to WW2. Ever since than germany is afraid of excessive violence etc. And of course Wolfenstein svastics are no go as well

What? Which games? Can't be many, as far as i recall there hasn't been a lot of games B-Listed in the last few years.

Well, that's some really old stuff there, I mean the new Wolfenstein was released here in Germany (censored though). You're right about Dead Island and Dead Rising though.
But it still depends on the list the game is on, A-List or B-List, if it's on B-List you won't be able to play it, A-List is a different matter though, games like Dying Light are still playable for example.

well it still annoys me, because that means I can't play stuff like Dead Rising at all :/

Usually, as long as you have a key, you can activate and play it, even here in Germany. Seen it with Alien vs Predator, Dying Light, Mortal Kombat 9 and other games.
Dead Rising seems to be a black sheep in that case though, just checked that game specifically. But even that game can easily be activated / played if you have someone who can gift it to you.
