I was never too into GOW back then because it just seemed like a meaningless hack n slasher whose only selling point was blood, gore, and sex. But this one seems a lot more focused on a larger story that looks to be a lot more interactive.

At the same time, they seem to be sacrificing gameplay for story. Which in my opinion is NEVER A GOOD THING.

Watch Devil May Cry go the same route. DmC may be different, but at least that was still a Hack n Slash game compared to "The Devil May Cry of Us"

I second what @DreadnoughtDT said. Especially in a genre such as Hack and Slash.

Devil May Cry doesn't need an in-depth story. DmC's story was meh, but the game was still good. Also, The Last of Us was, IMO, trite. Didn't like any of the characters, and the game itself was mediocre.
