I think I understand kojima and konami's "creative differences" now: without konami (as horrible as they are) telling kojima what to do, silent hills would've turned into THAT. >_>
Now you understand how relieved I was that it never came to fruition. Say what you like about latter-day Silent Hill games, but at least they were never overbearing, pretentious, interactive movies, which is what Death Stranding's most likely going to be.
"Now you understand how relieved I was that it never came to fruition."
Yeah... I was part of the many unwashed masses who never really got why you were so relieved. Oh, I understood the surface reasons (on-air radio broadcasts in lieu of codex babble) -- but I had honestly wanted to see the end product of silent hills... until now.
That was an ungodly mess. WHO TOLD HIM THAT WAS A GOOD IDEA??
So, from what I'm guessing, it's somewhat rips off of the Michael Bay movie The Island (along with that Twilight Zone-esque Island British show) with an environmental message tossed in (along with a random alien overlord regime).
So... basically, the genre-mashing I would've done but much worse (you've read my dmc/koa/hp mashup -- it was never THAT bad).
