I have...mixed feelings on it, in some ways it was fantastic but holy **** there is so much bad there, in other aspects its the worst of the series, especially in its treatment of characters like deathstroke.
Gameplay wise (combat, stealth, gadgets,) and scenery (graphics, fps, etc) it's masterpiece. Best in the series, however story wise, character wise, and batmobile wise, it's a mess.
Yeah I've heard complaints about too much Batmobile. But I couldn't care less I love driving that thing, I usually do that instead of gliding. It's an awesome addition.
Also in which way story is a mess? It was pretty compelling.
None, actually. The patches it got seem to have resolved the worse problems and my experience has been pretty bug free. Not even a crash. Frame rate was also good, rarely dropping to 30.
However, the ridiculous requirements for textures are still there. 4 GB of VRAM for High setting? Bullshit. I had to keep textures on Low. Thankfully even on Low they are acceptable in most cases and not a total blur fest.
I'm mixed on Jason Todd being Arkham Knight
1) It was obvious, I called it day 1, as any Bat-Fans who know the comics well enough
2) They insisted Arkham Knight was a completely new character, when they took an existing character and changed a few details in his story
But I'm a big fan of Red Hood, and I'm honestly just glad they got him in a game before the series was over
Yeah the Arkham Knight was a disappointment. However I'm glad they did keep Joker ****ing dead. It was time for another villain to shine and Scarecrow was the perfect choice.
Hell, I felt like I was playing Batman Begins with the whole "city soaked in fear gas" thing.
Me too, I almost wanted Joker in it, but I thought having him be like "Surprise, I'm alive" would ruin the end of Arkham City.
But I was really happy with how he was included, I thought it was very clever
Yeah imo the joker was the saving grace of that game, i'd of hated it a lot more otherwise(that and scarecrow was awesome) the fact that they managed to bring him back as a threat mentally rather then physically so as not to overshadow scarecrow but actually compliment his fear gas was pretty ingenious.
Btw my issues with the story stem from the arkham knight reveal which could've worked a lot better, the pacing was some of the worst i've seen with the game "Subtly" trying to get you to do sidequests after major story scenes such as character deaths and as said, it's interpretation of some characters was awful, for me it's the definition of a mixed bag game.
I didn't like how they revealed the Arkham Knight. They gave WAY too many hints on who it was. They kept showing scenes of Jason only in Arkham Knight, and not give more scenes of him in the past games.
Problem is it was a no win situation, non batman fans would'nt know who that is so they had to tease it, the teasing was atleast done in a way that it was'nt obvious to batman though as the joker was torturing him over past mistakes. but the fact that they were bringing up Jason made it obvious from the beggining.
