On every board there is always an April Fools thread like that, someone always makes one and has done so since i first joined forums. People should stop being so high and mighty and if they dont possess a sense of humour to know that someone will always post one. Not 'funny' as such but its expected and im just surprised some people fall for it every single year.

But that still doesn't explain what is supposed to be funny with it.

I mean, every joke has some kind of explanation on why it's funny, no?

No different to most practical jokes on April Fools Day really. Just the touchy DmC crowd took it more seriously than intended.

April's Fools is a rather rude day. Tricking people for a laugh for yourself. ;_;

I know you can trick someone when it comes to small stuff and all that. But tricking like that just gives one small glimpse of hope then quickly destroys it. If I'd care I would be devestated over it. :\

Thats pretty much what April Fools day does these days, no more cheap jokes its all tricking people into things for your own amusement, hence the 'fool' part of the day.

But as I said in the thread, many may think DMC is dead, and seeing a thread instantly gives hope that it isn't. Then realising it's a joke it kinda destroys that hope and could possibly ruin someone's day.

Wouldn't it be nicer if someone would joke on a lighter subject on this forum? Or... joke something bad is happening instead of something good so that when you realise it's a joke you get relieved instead of destroying ones hopes.

Think the idea was to get everyones attention and it did and the people who believed it were made to look like fools so job done. Would have been little point in doing it if it was about something no-one cared about. Anyone should have known it was fake info, i dont even play DMC and i knew it was.

No, I mean that they could've done a bad news that people care about, such as maybe "DmC Cancelled" which makes the person worry and rather it being a hope destroyer it will be a sigh of a relief knowing it's all a joke. Right?

Because it is somewhat lighter towards people in general to give bad news and then tell it was a joke rather than reversed. That's why many got upset over it all I think.

People did it on ProjectEgo about Elder Scrolls Skyrim and some people there are huge Elder Scrolls fans and some people were shocked at the thought of it being cancelled but then all had a laugh afterwards when they realised it was an April Fools prank. Dont understand why DMC fans seem so uptight about the series.

Just as I said. It was bad news being delivered but then proves false as it was a joke. However in the DmC case it was good news being delivered but then proves false.

There is no difference really just instead of being disappointed then relieved they were relieved then disappointed in both cases they were April Fools jokes and false. Just think people should lighten up and learn to shrug things off instead of whining every 5 mins about everything.

Or other people wouldn't hurt others to get a good laught themselves? April's Fools sounds like a dumb excuse to be mean imo. :/

Been around since 1392 so people should be used to it by now, i tend not to believe anything people tell me on April 1st.
