I like both. But I've always preferred Freddy Krueger, and the whole concept of him being able to kill you in your dreams.

I think what stood out for me is the fact that he gets you in your sleep. I remember when I first watched the movie, and thought that it was such a unique concept. The difference for me between him and other horror movie killers (such as Leatherface, Ghostface, anyone else that ends with 'face') is that unlike them, Freddy is somewhat unavoidable. I mean, they try methods to stay awake in the movies, but they inevitably fail. And once you're asleep, you're in his playground. That's what I thought was a great thing. The fact that these teenagers know that they'll meet their horrible fate, and the thought that it is unavoidable/inevitable just plays on that fear and makes it a little bit more worrying.

Anyway, while I like the concept of Freddy, which is basically an evil Dante when you think about it, the way Jason embodies every horror movie fan's desire to see all those insufferable teenagers that are so often protagonist of horror flicks die makes me prefer him overall. And he's more badass.

@Foxtrot94: Yes, but anyone could've crawled out of the sleeping bag before Jason did that. My point was that with Freddy, you literally have barely any chance to avoid him. I mean, you have to be really lucky (like Nancy). Even then, Freddy could just zip the sleeping bag up so you couldn't escape, since he can control such things in the dreams.
Also, just as a note, Freddy also kills insufferable teenagers. His curse was to basically kill the offspring of those who burnt him to death in his house on Elm Street.

Yes, but Jason is the symbol of teenager killing. Like, killing teenagers is literally the reason why he exists. Freddy does it too, but Jason is the one that's become the "poster boy" of teenager extermination.

Ah yes I know. But the thing is, Freddy is out to kill the offspring of those who burned him alive, as you said, but he would do that even if that offspring was adult, he doesn't care. Whereas Jason's killing spree is specifically aimed at teens, cause he was mocked, scorned and eventually drowned by the teens at Crystal Lake when he was little.

@Foxtrot94: They both have such tragic backgrounds, don't they? Kind of makes you feel sorry for 'em. Kind of makes you feel like the murdering rampages are justifiable.

Ehhhhh, I dunno, when you tear a guy to pieces so that his blood bursts out like a fountain and when you freeze a gal's head with liquid nytrogen only to shatter it into a bloody pulp, maybe you've gone just a little too far. :laugh:

It's better "A Nightmare on Elm Street" for various reasons :
1) The movies' settings of "Friday 13", like the screenplay and direction, include many plot holes and errors;

4)With Nightmare , Johnny Depp began a famous actor . And someone remember who's there in Friday 13 that today is very famous? If the answer is (too probably) NO ->
