I happen to have made a video of mine just a couple of days ago.
Plague Tale Requiem was probably the years most pleasant surprise. I enjoyed the first game well enough but I ended up liking Requiem a lot more than I was expecting to.
Days Gone wasn't my favorite game in the world. A lot of little annoyances built up over time. However I think that a sequel could have ironed out said annoyances and built upon the foundation of the first game.
Sony probably won't llet it happen, but I would play a Days Gone 2.
Yeah, just showing up is not enough to build back the trust that they spent the last several years burning. Now if all of these games announced yesterday come out and are good then I might be feeling differently.
As of right now I look at all of this with slightly optimistic skepticism.

Siphon Filter is one I've been saying Playstation should bring back since Metal Gear is gone and Ubisoft seems to want to put Sam Fisher in everything besides a Splinter Cell game. So the action stealth spy kind of game market is open.
I used to replay games a lot more frequently when I was a kid and just had more free time. Now I still squeeze them in if I really liked a game. Or if its something like DMC I tend to play once on each difficulty before moving on.
I'd say its less of a case of them copying those examples specifically and more of a case of just falling back on tropes that became common place.
The bloater from The Last Of Us wasn't exactly revolutionary either, ever since Left 4 Dead " Big zombie that spews poison" has been pretty common...
Hmm. The MGSV storyline to me is an interesting one to try to recommend. Like I think that the moments that it has are pretty cool in a vacuum. But they don't really gel together that well as an actual narrative.
