Just found out this movie existed today, so had to watch it. Excellent follow-up to the events in the anime. So far only subbed, but apparently the English voice cast was announced late last year, so it's only a matter of time. :thumbsup:

Man this show is dark. (Literally, I can't see a damn thing in some scenes) but it's charming, unintentionally silly even. People took this stuff seriously though, movies in the 30's were no joke

A Series of Unfortunate Events. I liked the movie, but the show is awesome. Much closer to the feel of the books. And Neil Patrick Harris is a much better Olaf. :thumbsup:

I'd recommend the show over the movie. The movie's not bad, but the show is much better. It captures the whole eerily cheery thing all the adults have going on in the books and makes the Baudelaire's situation much creepier instead of just bleak and hopeless, which is different than the movie and which I'm enjoying a lot more. I think the big difference is that the movie feels like it was geared towards a younger audience but the show feels more aimed at everyone. Both are good, I'm just enjoying the show more. ^^ (I'm only on episode 2, though, so I dunno how much will deviate in the end.)
