I've seen most of these players. Some of them I just searched up and they weren't that impressive imo.

So far michellegun has shown both technical and creativeness when it comes to Dante. As for Vergil, due to his movement options, it's obvious that he looks more stylish compared to Dante. Which isn't bad of course.

So...getting back on topic. (sorta)
Are there any other players besides michellegun201? At least players on par with him aside from n472a.

By far, he's one of the few people who I have seen that came up with some interesting combos for DmC. And I wasn't really that impressed until I saw some of his stuff. (Even n472a wasn't cutting it for me.)
Well theres Sam D.
He's on YouTube and has an almost complete 20% turbo run of the game.

Yeah It's kinda crazy how fast you can move around as Vergil if you time the teleports right.

Thanks for clarifying DarkDrakan

The only players that have come up with interesting combo videos as of now are michellegun201, GSHH and Cedrus0511 (for his time he did a good job).

ArrancarDante and Zexnus had planned to make their share of DmC combo videos, but it was dropped. HuangRSfly and IceTATcream (whom according to Huang, hasn't been playing DMC games) could have done impressive stuff but they are primarily DMC4 players.

This guy's called "墳月", he also had some awesome moves in his video.

And also, gotta love that music.

Havent used the warning button for a while but hands are itching to do so...
You're right, Drakan. I honestly don't blame you after everything that's happened.

Also, thanks for making it clear to everyone that you're not singling me out in your latest post. I really have been trying to avoid the people here, recently.

This. So much this.

Back on topic...

Yeah, I usually have to change the control scheme in order to JC effectively. Luckily, I can look good playing DmC even without changing it.

Thank God for "low" skill entry levels right? I guess I'm just not all that good in the end.

Some of us here are discussing about high level DmC players, meaning we care how good people play. The best players get watched by people because they know the "best" are capable of breaking barriers and showing the possibilities a certain game has. Why do you think people upload combo videos and participate in tournaments? Because its fun and people like to see good players play and open their eyes to possibilities.

I honestly felt like a lot of early DmC combo vids were players imitating DMC4. And just to let you know where I'm coming from, I always thought JCing was glitchy. To me, DMC4 relishes on how difficult it is to glitch the game to your advantage or just for ****s and giggles. And apparently DMC4's list of combat mechanics have continued for 10 years. Yes, I'm highly impressed by that.

BUT

JCIng in DmC doesn't get a pass as well. What I found more interesting in DmC, to me, was set ups. There are so many ways to maneuver not just one, but multiple enemies around for a crap ton of combo possibilities. Not to mention how agile Dante and Vergil are in DmC. Some of the I glitches in DmC are cool, but most of them, to me, completely take out how fluid the game is supposed to be and then it just looks glitchy.

Double gun stocking
Stocking two shotgun bombs at once
auto gun stocking

these are the only glitches that I can tolerate, the rest are just side show glitches

Honestly, I don't have the patience or the dexterity to complete some of the creativity that I think of when I'm deep in the action but, I can see the potential there.

Yeah I saw his vid a few days ago. He has some really nice setups. :)

I saw some videos that Huang did when it came to DmC. Unfortunately I believe he deleted the videos on his channel. I do remember some videos being posted on Youku. I'll have a look around.

I think you missed what Chancey was trying to get across here.

Um...what point exactly? Could you clarify it?
We just wanna discuss top players. Is that so wrong? :/

hey chaser you should check out sam-d oppressedwriter on here ,he is pretty brilliant at DmC

I've seen Sam D's gameplay. It's good but again, it doesn't impress me that much. Sorry. :[

Actually, setups in DMC4 are a common thing. It just gets shrouded by complex JCing.
Recent videos have shown that you can do a lot of things when you set up your combos appropriately. Hell, people have made combo videos that specifically didn't include JCing.

BUT I do agree with you on how more emphasized setups are in DmC. The game isn't that technical, but it's more focused on actual setups. (Although with Dante in DmC, he lacks a lot when it comes to movement options that looks stylish, compared to Vergil)

I just found out that you're taking this conversation over to the DMC4 section, so I won't say anything else.

Well I guess i forgot to mention the OP video. And the video was pretty awesome. Long range combos look beautiful in DmC.

Wow. Great video. That looks completely complicated and yet not glitchy. Granted there's not a full combo in sight. I'm guessing its really just to point out set ups, but whats wrong with your bread and butter combos? It's never used anymore in videos that i feel like TruStyle champs have forgotten how to press Triangle 4 times without hitting anything else. lol.

Well, mainly the point of people doing complex JCing is because it's a part of a setup.

Take this video for example.

Now to most people, the beginning of each combo that Sakaki does seems like it's just random JCing. However he's setting up for the main focus on his combo with Lucifer pins. And seeing how the pins goes off on it's own after a certain amount of time he needs to come up with some filler combos in order to occupy that time. What makes this impressive is that he HAD to figure out what he could do in order to wait for the pins to explode and then do something out of it.

Things like this is why I get more impressed at watching DMC4's gameplay than watching DmC. Not only because of the setups you could do but it also requires a lot of technical skill and precision to execute. And it feels very rewarding when you master the combat system to do those things.

From 1:50 and on, some pretty impressive set ups. High time/rose explosion/high time/rose explosion.... that looked crazy.(... If only Kablooy had the ability to set off each tagged explosion separately...)
Also gunslinger style is my favorite, so the next couple of combos that finished with a shot gun, more importantly behind the back finish and then stinger shotgun finish, crazy. But the time in between the setups, as you say are just fillers, to me, make Dante look like a strobe light with tons of half animations. Everything else looks good.

I wish i had time to practice and record more with DmC to illustrate multiple enemy set ups. But i'll just stick to my skill level and go bat **** when i do something god like lol

Really?
I think it's pretty obvious that these kind of videos had a particular rhythm or pattern to them.
After a while(Just like with all combo vids) you start to see the pattern or are able guess how the combos are gonna end.

Hey everyone,

Long time no see, I figured as long as we're putting combo videos up. I'd like chasertech to show me a video that has the same set ups as the following combos:

Here is the really easy and requiring no skill at all DmC inputs to execute this combo with my control scheme:
Forward, Forward X, mash x, Left Trigger + B, Y, L1, Right Trigger + B.
press right on dpad to switch from axe to eryx.
Left Trigger + A, A,
Right Trigger + X (keep holding x, will keep charging without trigger)
Left Trigger + L1, L1.
X, X, B, R1, Left Trigger + B, Forward, Forward + right trigger X (keep charging time to hit enemy before fall)
press right on dpad to switch from eryx to axe.
R1 into LT + R1, A(on contact to do do angel lift) reverse stick direction + X.
Start holding R1, forward, forward + X, mash x to finish right as level 3 charge is ready let go of R1,
Forward, Forward + Right Trigger + X
Neutral Press Y to detonate.

I guess the reason I just don't pump out combo videos is that I like to edit to music and create an action scene, that's why I love DmC.

I mean how can you not love how epic this fight feels when you have headphones on and you're sitting on a bigscreen HD TV. DmC with 20% turbo on a computer that can run it without a hitch is a thing to behold. And truth be told, Chasertech, I still don't think you've really played the game like its meant to be played, because I remember your DmC videos when it first came out, you were running it on a ****ty computer and comparing how sluggish it felt to DMC4. I don't think that is a very fair comparison.
