You're not serious. You can't be serious.
1. It's like you're neglecting DMC 3's prequel. The one were he fought Vergil for the first time. Before he knew anything about Rebellion. You're saying none of that matters here. If you're going to put DMC 3 Dante up against DmC Dante, then you better use him at the beginning of his game before the DT buff to make it fair. (DMC 3 is literally sub titled Dante's AWAKENING)
2. You don't know what's going on with the demonic energy. You also don't know how many forms DmC Dante has. He's only met Vergil once. He hasn't fully released the potential of his DT (like DMC 3 Dante) and he hasn't tapped into the power of Rebellion.
3. If Vergil's Downfall didn't help you realize that there's more to their powers then something is wrong here.
4. It's like you're pitting DMC 2's Dante against DMC 4's. One Dante's events haven't happened yet. You're jumping timeframes. Just because they're at their weakest doesn't mean their storylines are on the same page.
5. You can literally add two years to DmC and use the story plot from DMC 3 line for line.
Thus making this topic asinine.
1. DmC too had a prequel comic so your point. Both activated their DT in their respective games (DMC3 and DmC) and shown by the fact that Dante's DT gets stronger or changes in later games meaning his DT in DMC3 is at its weakest like DmC Dante's DT. Plus DmC was a RETELLING of Dante's origins story (DMC3) so DmC was essentially DMC3 it even had a prequel comic in which Dante never knew about his Rebellion either and got it as well. Plus Dante and Vergil never really fought in the DMC3 manga.
2. Hey guess what. NEITHER DO YOU!!! Until its hinted and stated that DmC Dante can get more demonic forms then you can make a point. Plus DMC Dante never fully activate the full potential of his DT until DMC2 (which is decades from DMC3) so your point? Who cares if he only faced Vergil once. He kicked his ass regardless.
3. Geez must I....no one os discussing DmC Dante at their full potential we're discussing the 2 Dante's in thier prime or first game debating who is stronger at their weakest origin state. Plus that argument is invalid since its DMC3 Dante and we shouldn't forget DMC1,2, & 4 Dante are all stronger hence DMC3 Dante is in the same position as DmC Dante of not fully reaching his full potential either. So your argument is if Vergil could ge stronger by DF so can DmC Dante well their is no argument to make Vergil in DMC couldn't get stronger and he did and he's called Nelo Angelo.
4. So you're basically admitting DMC3 Dante is stronger. Regardless, if anything that argument is strongly invalid considering DmC Dante fought and defeated his mortal enemy Mundus whereas Dante by DMC3 didn't so DmC is jumping the timeline.
5. In DmC Dante AWAKENED his devil powers too as stated by Phineas but it wasn't complete and neither was DMC3 Dante considering he kept on getting more and more powerful at each passing game.
