I noticed angels, what could be Mundus, a strange Mario-Kart style pathway, a few new moves (least they looked new), and that the DT is back. The DT...still wish it was different.
OH! And they mentioned Sparda.
UPDATE: I just noticed something in the boss battle with the larva. First of all, I'm pretty sure it was on easy and it was probably modded or something. SSS ranking at the start of the battle? Ummm...
Also, anyone else notice the purple bar under his health? Could that be for DT?

I agree with everything up until the Mundus thing (but I still loved the trailer because it showed more)...The time of making demons look scary all the time for you to understand that it's a demon is over. Now crimelords and mafiosos are the demons (I live in South Texas...we have cartels). I just think that they are trying to get past the old cliches.

Ok, so here's the thing. The trailer starts and that mask looks dumb, I don't know if it's Vergil or not, 4chan guy says it is, he even says he wears that black coat; anyway, he looks dumb and sounds stupid, the dialougue was not impressing but it was hardly painful. But then... There is a bouncer not leting him in... Are you kidding!!??? that guy was ether going to get punched or round housed or kneed at the groin, it was such an obvious sceen it hurt.
Then you get to the club, fine, not really something I'd expect at a DMC game but that's the way they want to go, but then pops out the giant roach and Dante deliveres this stupid line of dialougue that is just delivered so poorly it makes my eyes roll. Which leads to the fighting, which is the same as the other trailers but with more lights and zoom ins to ke it look diferent which is not and to mee dressing up the gameplay is a bit of slap and too many games do it to make the game look better than it is and it's just BS.
Then we get to the tree and the DT which seem fine but I have my issues with the DT and I've said it all before.
Then Mudus turns up and he isn't a demon, he a f'in' mafia lord. He's got the additude of a damn thug and not the one of an ancient evil. Not impresses. What kind of ancient demon dresses and talks like movie though guy?

ok you and i are on polar opposites. i LOVED the trailer. the man in the mask was a call back to V for Vendetta. a "british" graphic novel by alan moore where soceity is ruled by fear and greed. the man against it wore a similair mask. so i give them points for it.
and yh dante isnt going to say "oh not on the list ok ill wait in line". we know what hell do cuz hes dante and hes fricken awesome.
the club scene was absolutelt epic. my mind was literally blown and i thought every frame of it was stunning
the cheesy line was cheesy but hey not even original dante struck gold every time he opened his mouth.
as for mundus, he looks MORE imposing especially if youve played the original. because A he isnt sealed in a statue so at any given time he could laser eye us all to death. and he looks like a kind of person who would own a city. like you said a mafia boss. he looks threatening, stylish and brutal. the kind of man weve all seen on the news and shake hands with politicans. which means you cant just go at him. so he is a believable villain even though he is the god of demons

Berto, I think you should just sit this one out. You don't seem to like anything about this game, so maybe one of the future games will appeal to you or you can play the old games, but why stick around this part of the forum when you don't like the game? I don't say you aren't entitled to your opinion, of course you are, but there is no reason for you to be here if you don't want to be here. I wouldn't stay around a forum about a game I didn't like either, it's like putting your hand into a jar of scorpions and not wanting to pull it out, but rather keep telling people how much it sucks. Pull the hand out of the jar and spare yourself the misery.

I am familiar with V and it's impact. I still find it tacky and nowhere near as well made as V.
Him and every other character who's ever tried to get into a club. It's not that creative or cool anymore, it's been done to death.
Yeah, but this is a trailer, they need to pick the better lines for the trailer and leave the rest for the game.
Yeah, he looks like a man, not an ancient been who has seen the rise and fall of civilizations and goverend armies of demon. Insted we got a rich douchebag with a boss additude that really seems more human than any demon should be.
I appretiate that you like what you see but I'm not convinced and the last wo trailers have only helped to push me away.

IM sorry to hear that. but i think mundus is still the ancient demons god. but he changes form like randal savage from the DC universe but better. hes been controlling humanity for millenia.
edit: i know savage doesnt shape shift but he is an imortal caveman

I am familiar with Vandal Savage's origins. Actually he does look like he could be a rendition of Savage, oddly enough.

I'm with you 150% on that, the mask does look dumb.
That scene was obvious obvious, but what made it a little different is Dante putting his name on the list himself. I dunno bout you but that was pretty funny to me, and it beats the cliche of the bouncer usually getting knocked out or run over or tricked so the people can sneak into the club, y'know?
Plus, how would you not expect a club in a DMC game?
There's mention of clubs in the manga, and in DMC3 Dante goes through a bar (an empty bar but a bar/pub nonetheless) so if there's mention of prostitutes and booze in the original series, and Dante's constant 'party' lines, why would you be surprised to see an actual club in the game? Unless you've never been into the manga and novels and anime, I can see why it wouldn't make you think 'DMC' when you see the club scene. But still, NT followed through with Capcom's 'hints' that Dante is a party animal. I'd say Dante fits in a club scene.
Also, you have demons chasing after Dante through churches, so what's wrong with a roach attacking him at a club?
Oh. And everything Dante generally says is lame. If it bugs you so much, you could do what I do and play the game with the sound off. Really, DMC3 Dante was irritating with his cheesy-I-wanna-be-cool jokes, and as far as I'm concerned, him saying the 'demon killer' line is way better than his 'adios' and 'didn't your mother' lines in the previous games.
As for the rest of your rant, I can't follow what it is you're trying to say. It's a demo, we didn't get to see the whole fight with the roach so how you can say they're trying to make it look better than what it is.....? I dunno, I'm sorry I'm just not following.
And about Mundus. Definitely not what I pictured. Yeeaaah I'm a bit taken aback about his appearance as well, I was expecting more. With that said, it is in keeping with the theme NT is putting into the game and I'm sure we'll face off with Mundus' true form at some stage in the game. Two worlds, remember? The fake one and the real one where Dante kicks demon butt?
That aside. Mundus dressing up like a movie tough guy? What about Dante dressing up with a clownish coat and cowboy boots in DMC4? What kind of 'hero' dresses like a weirdo?

think of it in this way DmC as you may know is based on social satire. Many of the references made in the trailer the brainwashing media to the corrupt banking system are based on real life. Now Mundus isn't going to be depicted as a floating tentacle monster right from the start; this game will most likely attack corrupt billionaires and politicians, thus, the new Mundus design.
And for arguments sake lets say he the design IS stupid. Its all probably a ploy by Mundus. You honestly think that the battle against Mundus is going to be dante vs him in a suit, of course not odds are he is going to transform into a demon. But in order to keep and tight hold on his empire he has to be seen and listened to.

I'm not really feeling this trailer. I like it, I just dont love i the same way i like the others.
Some of the dialogue is pretty bad and i'm not digging their take on mundus.
@Jane- it is a reboot with no ties to the canon, they can introduce whoever they want however they want.
