I thought they said they would wait after the outcome of DmC and then decide they want to do a sequel? At least, that's what NT said.

Damn you, Capcom!

It's too early for a DmC 2. But I'm not mad about that. When I write my novel and I'm still on my first book, I'm already thinking about what my others will be even though i'm not done with the first. Also, One Piece creator, Eichihiro Oda does that with his manga. While he was working on chapter 1 of One Piece, he was already thinking about the New World arc (Which is almost 5oo chapters away from chapter 1)

If the game is successful and I can see it for myself, then I wouldn't mind seeing a DmC2.

Ugh.

I can understand if a company works on the sequel to a game that isn't out yet if it's a big title. DmC is a reboot to a not that well known or popular series. So it's a risky game regardless what they do. Granted, a lot of gaming websites and magazines have been kissing NT's ass about this game, but still...

It would be a lot smarter to see how things go with this game first and if it's successful make a sequel. Either way, this looks like the official death of DMC to me. Shame.

EDIT: Hold on a second. The article doesn't say that the reboot is going to be getting a sequel: just a Devil May Cry game. So it could be DMC5 or something completely different. Hm...

I think it's a DMC, not DmC. If it's DmC2 then I'm gonna be like other people and do the "Bwuh?" routine.

the way I see it;
it died after 2. 3 made it flamboyantly anime, and 4 killed it again. Now the reboot is the ghost put into another body.^_^

It would be smart to do DMC5. The reboot got new fans attention and the HD collection gave those new fans, as well as old ones, something to play. DmC, when it's finally released, will also attract more people (assuming it's good). Then when DMC5 is announced, the people who never heard of DMC until the reboot will be like: "Oh! Let me check this out! :D" Then DmC2 can come out a couple years later. DMC will have it's own fans and DmC will have it's own fans, but there will be overlap as well.

Bam. Capcom makes lots of money.

To bad that makes too much sense for Capcom. :shifty:

I guess I'm not the only one also wanting a DMC5.
It would be smart to have Capcom develop DMC5 and Ninja Theory continue the DmC series if they so please. It seems though that Capcom is forcing the sequel on NT, since NT said they weren't sure if they would do a sequel.
