I have said this many times DMC is a gameplay type of game. It's focus is gameplay.
And it has little realism in it.
If your gonna tear apart everything by DMC then you can do that with everything. Such as "It's not very realistical for a person to have white hair", or he gets stabbed with swords tons of times and he does not die despite you seeing liters and liters of blood rushing out of his body, or how Dante in DMC 1 shoots a motorcycle with bullets and it doesn't explode but gets pushed...
It's really weird how DmC is a stand alone game but when Ninja theory makes a reason for this game. A reason for why DmC world traps Dante when he meets demons (the reason being limbo), people try to apply that "reason" to other DMC games.
The reason for the spiderwebs, aura walls blocking doors/paths in DMC 1,2, 3 and 4 is two:
1) Demons appeared he was ambushed/surrounded (a logical reason)
2) Gameplay thing.
Those are reasons but limbo is a much more reasonable reason.
When people talk about Realism it doesn't necessarily mean 'normal human realism' i think it means A logical or relatable reason for what is happening. Dante is fast, can heal e.t.c why because he's a human hybrid(not realistic but we know demons are powerful so someone with demonic traits would also kick ass)where do the demons come from? Limbo,an evil entity/world that creates demons(not totally realistic but science fiction has always talked about a multiverse,so an 'Evil-Earth' spawning demons is a bit logical)than random demons coming out in 'Our Earth'.
Realism could also be more balanced. Dante is usually over-powered in cutscenes but under-powered in gameplay. How do i mean?
-Dante kills demons with one bullet in cutscenes but hundreds in real-time. Realism-If it takes hundred in gameplay a few dozens in cutscenes would be fine.
-he can get run through with countless scythes in cutscene but one swipe of the scythe in gameplay would knock him 1/2 way across the stage.
Realism-Don't let him get hit in cutscenes,if he does get hit it should be necessary not to show badassery(it's so cliché) & let him show sign of impact/little pain/stagger.(wolverine can heal he doesn't need to laugh when getting hit to show he's badass).
All in all do we really need all that fighting in cutscenes i mean explain the f**king story & leave the fighting to us. E.g. God of war kratos doesn't fight unnecessarily in cutscenes neither does War(darksiders) the leave us all the fighting and explain the frigging story. No wonder DMC stories have always been subpar.
