Capcom: DMC5 to be “tailored to what fans want.”

A topic concerning the future of DMC5 that was posted in our DMC5 Forum has been getting a lot of attention recently. Rumours of another addition to the DMC series have been flying around like crazy in recent months and it appears that Capcom has definitely not forgotten about us.

If you haven’t already, do please be sure to have a quick glance at the topic and see what you think of what the community is saying about DMC5, and how we’d like to see it shaped for its release.

I'm new to this, but as long as capcom may still be open to suggestions I have to say that I was very "upset" that Dante was unable to perform aerial combos in DMC 4. Only the helm splitter was available (as I can recall, it's been awhile) and I think that seriosly interfered with the gameplay on his side. Also, what was with the Final Fantasy elements? This is Devil May Cry! Let's take it seriously people! I'd like to see a choice of Nero, Dante, and Vergil, with the Devil Bringer, four styles, and a more complex teleportation system respectively. Just a thought.

I want Dante,Nero and Vergil to be playable characters in DMC5 more style in the game for the characters each one of them has his own different story to play in with lets say about 20 missions or more this time i want Dante to be only with a leather jacket the music in the games was very good but maybe they should try with really famous artists let's say Dante listens to AC/DC and Nero listens to Celldweller the game should have more mods like hunt the demon or kill the devil or conquer heaven or hell the devil king like that they should keep bloody palace i want still to find some thing new even if i all ready beat the game and bloody palace but still i really don't care allot this details all i want is the game to be out soon so i can buy it for my PC and if it doesn't come out soon the should make the first and the second game for PC with better graphics and sound more extras like missions modes

No… "fan tailored" = kids saying "omg I want Nero" and other stuff like that.
What I really miss is Dante, more like in 1 or 4 (more mature, serious etc). In fact dmc4 was more about that annoying Nero (ok, he was that bad but still…) for stupid, young girls – I am a girl myself and I don't feel like that – and the lack of Dante was just terrible. I don't know, I would like to see dmc5 this way:
1. Dante as a main character
2. Vergil, Lady, Trish and Nero can't be forgotten – but they as important for me as I've writen
3. More dark atmosphere
4. A lot of blood and monsters ;) And please, people from Capcom: don't say that game is for girls so you can't put there any disgusting things! I can accept that, it may at least make some better atmosphere!

  Devil May Cry has always been about Dante and it should stay that way I did not mind playing with Nero but playing with Dante was VERY sloppy. Come on guys This is Dante we are talking about Son of sparta the good (BADASS) guy. I dont really care what they put in the story line as long as the moves of DMC4 gets combined with DMC3, example Dente sword does that big fist thing that Nero hand does. (Also fix that gun chage thing maybe an upgrade that charges it automaticaly, the game pace is too fast to to charge sh_t up). and lastly PLEEEEZE release it soon. Wel then thats is my 2c worth.

What we need is another push in impressive level design like we saw in 4. The mood of the Credo battle was astoundingly new, and very welcome. They should also continue to make interesting characters, like we saw in 3 with Vergil and 4 with Nero; flat, obnoxious anti-heroes are too commonplace these days. Story-wise, obviously the biggest open questions are Sparda's story and Nero's story: of those two, the latter seems more likely and interesting, especially since Sparda's story seems to be slowly revealed by the series. How did Nero end up with the Devil Bringer? What is his connection to Yamato and Vergil? If I've read the clues correctly, Nero is Vergil's son (hence his 1/4–one limb–demon physique), and seeing what actually led to that would be very intriguing.

Other than that, I'd say give Lady/Mary a better role and return to the Divine Comedy-inspired roots of the series.

The fact is they can't have all the characters you want in without creating plot holes.
And frankly speaking, i would rather have a good storyline than a load of characters.

I wasnt to fussed on Nero. But a new storyline with Dante would be good. Maybe if they made two completely seperate storylines for Nero & Dante, involving their own bosses then maybe the game could be as good as the 3rd or 1st.

I read the comments that the other fans had written, and I believe that the common elements (in addition to what I´d like to see in the next DMC game) is to be able to play with Dante more, been even more free in the moves and have new and cool ones. The other thing is that Nero´s history must be told, but in another game dedicated just to him (like an Devil May Cry Cronicles) or through misterious events that leads Dante to know more about him. As well as Nero´s, Sparda´s is another history that the fans and myself want.

The key for making this game great, as is definitely can be, it´s to get out of the things that we´re used to, innovate, be original, start the game with something so mind-blowing and shocking that stop playing would be impossible.

Okay like everyone else i was very, very disapointed with the fact that there was so little Dante in DMC4. However, i did very much enjoy playing as Nero, he was a very solid built character, even with his lack of weapons and style. I think that in the next game they should go back to the darker atmosphere that we got in the first game, I don't know about anyone else but it was exciting. Level design should be freash something new, like battle in the Underworld would be a good set. As for character i think that there is plenty of key character now, so no more need to be added. Virgil definatly needs to make his come back, and not as Nero or Nelo Angelo, but as the Virgil that we got in DMC3. Trish and Lady (Mary) should be involved also as they have both played inportant roles in the past. As for gameplay i think they should should rebot it, the players need to get their minds blown away, after all Devil MAy Cry has always been about being flashy and pulling aff amazing moves. As for playable characters i think that they should make Dante, Virgil, and Nero playable. They should all get there own misson and bosses so that the game doesn't feel repetitive adn boring. Now as for the story i think they should explain alot, such as Nero story, because there has been increasingly bigger gapes in the story.

okay i am a big time devil may cry fan and i have a few ideas that i think would make the dmc5 great. first off, you need to shift the story back to dante because although i liked Nero unlike most people, Dante is still the main character of the story. One big mistake that was made in devil may cry 4 was playing as nero for like 70% of the game then switching to dante out of nowhere. i think that most will agree that nobody wants to change characters in the middle of the game. Regardless of how many playable characters you have make it so that you can play through the whole story as each individual character. That being said I would like to see Nero, and perhaps Vergil each with their own individual story that maybe overlaps the big story (perhaps some levels for each character would be exactly the same while each character has a few missions specifically for them).
in terms of enemies just be creative i think you they are always pretty good except Please PLEASE do not bring back those parasite like things that latch on to other enemies and make that enemy have sharp claws that swing at random that were in devil may cry 4. They are absolutely NOT fun to fight and you just end up shooting them.
for dante i think you should keep the style system and make it similar to devil may cry 3 where you select 2 weapons and 2 guns because that makes it easier for you to strategize and I feel that having 3 weapons makes it more difficult to perform the moves you want because you have to switch weapons too much. along with this dante needs new unseen weapons although you should obviously bring back rebellion, and also beowulf, pistols, and shotgun but the rest should be new. for nero, he really needs some type of other weapons because although he was fun to play in dmc4 he got boring after a while because he had no depth like dante does.
in terms of the rest of the game like the story, graphics, setting, etc., i think that its great every time (except maybe the story but i honestly don't worry too much about that) and im interested to see what you do with that although i don't have any ideas for how that should be done.

  In Devil May Cry 3, after Vergil jumped into the demon world to fight Mundus, Mundus captured him and enslaved/bent him to his will. Nero/Nelo Angelo is the corrupted Devil Trigger which came from that.
  
  In Devil May Cry 1, Mundus created Trish, a physically identical copy of Dante and Vergils mother, Eva.
  
  Trish lured him to Mallet Island, where he encountered and fought Nero/Nelo Angelo. He eventually defeated (and presumably killed) him. After Nero/Nelo vanished in a flash of light, Dante retrieved Vergils half of the amulet. (But we didn't know it was Vergils at that time, since it hadn't been revealed that Dante had a brother yet.

i want ~ more of dante. storyline of either sparda,nero or vergil or one that links them all. more cool moves and weapons. new bosses or mundus. maybe dante with a new hairstyle i.e mullet lol i want hot babes somewhere in there. i want dmc 5 to be more like dmc 3 but with the darkness of dmc 1.

they should have a co-op mode online. so one person can play either dante, virgil, nero, trish or lady/mary(and when u finish the game! sparda will be available character on co-op). i know trish moves was the same as dante on dmc1 on dmc2. and the story should be about sparda going to the human world and meet dante and virgil mother along the way. story=introduction:teenage sparda went to the human world along with other demons. sparda went on a seperate ways with other demons and disguise himself as a human then she met a girl(exorcise woman) who is not afraid of him. Sparda found himself having fun so he decided to stay in the human world and slowly develop love with the girl. One night as sparda is on his way back to the human world, the other demons tried to kill the girl and Sparda slash and hack the demons. Then mundus find out about this and decided to declare war with the human world. but sparda is against it so he sacrifiace himself to save the human world without knowing he had a sons twin with the girl(exorcise woman). and dante's mother died because of ill when dante and virgil was only 7 . to be continue…

i wouldnt mind being able to play as Nero or Virgil but seriously make it about Dante .. i hated only playing him for less then half the missions in Devil may cry 4 , the game is and should remain .. Dante's story

I'd suggest a co-op kind of addition, with dante and nero being together in the fray, choosing who you want to play with in the start of the mission.

Being a fan since the first Devil May Cry, I have enjoyed all the games (maybe not the second as much). I was thinking, and remember just to bare with me on this idea, what if Dante never returned at the end of Devil May Cry 2. I know at the end of the game you hear a motorcycle pull up but you actually don't see Dante. What if it was Vergil or Nero. You could play as any Devil May Cry character to go and save Dante from Hell. This way maybe you could continue the story instead of doing prequels and all. I love playing as Dante as much as the next but I would love to see the game move forward instead of doing prequels. And maybe just maybe this would redeem the second game that seems to be all but forgotten. Again this is just an idea but fighting through hell to retrieve Dante would be awesome.

I think they should tweak the combat system so it’s more fluid like in NInja Gaiden 2. As for Nero in Devil May Cry 4, I thiught he was awesome, he made Dante look like a more interesting character. And just what the hell happened to Lucia from Devil May Cry 2? And yes, they sure as hell need to find a way to bring Vergil back and playable so they can explain to us the relationship between Vergil and Nero. And if they are father and son, who would sleep with Vergil? Going back to gameplay, they should make it so you can switch from Redqueen to Yamato when playing as Nero. Forgive me if what I just posted sounds like jibberish.
