The folks over at IGN have got a nice little poll going whereby you can vote for your favourite hero from Devil May Cry or God of War. That’s right, it’s a poll that begs the question: Who is better, Dante or Kratos? Who is your favourite?
Me, personally, I’m a big fan of both the Devil May Cry series and God of War series, but I’ve always preferred the Devil May Cry series so my allegiance must lie with Dante. The fact that I run a Devil May Cry websiet also helps influence my decision ever so slightly… ;)

Look I like bouth and GOW and DCM.I like Krasto's brutality and Dante's stly of fighting.I like story of DCM I just love thas two game's.And I will like to this war of GOW AND DCM end's:D

I have played the games of both the titles. And both by far are the best in the world of the Play Station. But I gotta side wid KRATOS.
There are several indications which state that Dante or Nero for that matter is much stronger than Kratos in trms of speed, weapon armory, but choosing a side based on that is just stupidity. Besides if you compare DMC weapon selection with the weapon selection and magical powers of GOW you will find that they are evenly matched maybe GOW will even exceed.
Quicksilver to the timelag powers in GOW II, Typhoons bane or Poseidon’s rage to Kalina Ann, Barbarian Hammer to Beowulf. Shotgun to Army of Hades. DT to Rage of the gods or Rage of the titans in GOWII.
[{note} don’t wast time in tyring to understand the above mentioned weapons because only a DMC and GOW fan will understand what I am talking bout]
The main point as to why I side Kratos is his ever undying will and never say die, being a human that is. There is where I feel Kratos has more weight. Kratos may be the son of a Zeus but was raised as a human whereas Dante recognized his powers at a young age Kratos has learned it through experience, through suffering, through death!!!
Experience is another place where Dante falls short, as it is known experience always has it's winning edge in anything; be it our life or sports or whtever.
Kratos has died twice, been to hell in soul and body consumed to be dammed for eternity. Yet he escaped hell twice, for Dante hell is like a summer vacation, he goes there whenever he gets a chance to as seen in DMC I and 3.
The eternal torment that Kratos has faced throughout his life is another thing that Dante will never know. The torment driving Kratos to the point of insanity.
Dante does have his own stuff to deal with. But it is always related to one topic that is Sparda’s Power. While GOW expands on a larger and wider array of gameplay.
I'm gonna be wtih Dante. If any of u guys SEEN the DMC anime, then u would totally agree with me. True, Kratos is all powerful, but so is Dante. Did u see how many times Dante got stabbed? I was even suprised that he's still alive.Capcom is making Dante invincible or something.It's almost like NOTHING can defeat him. If Dante fights with Kratos, then Kratos would win…in the first battle. But in the end, Dante would really be the winner.
i've seen th DMC anime, and th num of times Dante gets impaled still leaves me astonished but i dont think th u have played GOW cus in Kratos also jus happens to get impaled every single time before being sent to hell.

Like I said before, Capcom is making Dante invincible or something! I already mentioned the anime and games when he gets stabbed mutiple times and still lives, but you DO have to remember who he beat in the past games. Mundas, Sparda's power (Arkham), Vergil, and Abilgail's power (anime). You do have to note that Mundas is just like Hades, and Dante's powers have passed his own father. So, Zeus is just like Sparda, they both have amazing power. And I know how much pain Kratos has gone through! I've PLAYED them for your information! I don't own them though. I dunno, the main reason why I'm siding with Dante is because: I'm a DMC fan, The music rocks, Dante's powers just seem endless, and not to forget his 'oh, I'm such a badass I can totally kick ya butt to another state!' attitude.

Well, forums mean a lot to me…sort of. But what I'm really intrested in is what side are YOU on? Trust me, if u choose Kratos then I won't try to change your mind. I'm just a little curious.
Please forgive the length of this post, but I cudnt help myself when I saw that Kratos was being crucified by the other posters. I divided into two parts becus of the length.
Dante goes to hell on his own will which is why he comes back on his own will, whereas Kratos is taken in by death another experience which Dante will nevr know, but still he is so stubborn, so hard headed that he refuses to go down escaping hell against the will of HADES the devil who is the same to Mundugus or Lucifer himself pissing him off most of the time I assume.
True he will never have the attitude that Dante possesses, no way Dante is one of a kind and I admit much more cooler than Kratos anytime of the day but doubt he will win. And DMC 4 is shown as Dante’s peak in power but he doesn’t have any difference in his powers, GOW III is not out yet an by the looks of the trailer looks like Kratos has gotten more stronger because he is on a mission to kill his own father –Zeus the ruler of Olympus, something which will nevr happen in the DMC title.

dayum long enough chaos? uhm yeah this is a real toughy first krato's is yes a god and dante yes is a demon(or half) but yeah kratos has been stab and indurind it and eys dante has had his own sword throwen at him but dont you think he could control his sword so it should effect him much? yes kratos has been to hell twice hes also a full god now and posseses many effective weapons like the spear of destiney which is use a relic of light and demons are darkness i wuld hav to stick to………..BOTH! its just not easy or if i really really had to….. probly kratos i had to say fans but yeah
isn´t it a little bit of cheating, dante livs in todays time, kratos livs in the old grece, were there are no guns, and dante is a kind of super human, all his abilities is over standard, but kratos got the brutality that no man or god will ever posses, so it would be a fun fight to watch, i could never choose between them, so i call it even :))
he doesnt actually live in this time theres still demons swords and guns in that time(not that we dont use them) but im talking medival BUT i diff type of medival to others
The fact that kratos is half god means nothing. Lets be real dante would crush hades a god. dante would crush aries as well a god kratos only being half all the more reason for him to be crushed by dante.
Dante already has crushed Hades. *Ahem* In DMC1 he fought and defeated the prince of darkness (C'mon that is JUST like Hades)
i want to say something before i comment here … why you GoW fans post here…EXCUSE ME GO ON YOUR FU forum and post there this is a Dmc forum…. i like GoW series too but dont involve this two games. They are fine as they are now.. and DmC creators dont need your ideas to mix them up and screw the game ….and my post for this topic is : THIS IS A BULLSHIT ( excuse me ) i read earlier that someone wants some aspects of GoW to be in DMC too … FOooools!!!! stop it
look u all to be real i hav played both games to d end forget d god or d demon. look at d 2 of dem, 4get who they have both beaten, Dante will kill kratos. Ok now match weapon, give dante kratos weapons and giv kratos dante's weapon. dante can learn how to use a weapon a less dan 5 seconds. dante can escape a gun shot at his head 4rm nero so fast, march kratos speed with dante. Ok, no weapon, no demon power, hand combat. dante will win cus he is faster. Ok weapon, i will pick just 1 weapon 4rm both, dante's gilgamesh vs kratos zeus hand. d gilgamesh is stronger. in term of slow down time, dante is almost faster dan time almost a bullet. or nero's hand against any weaapon. and dante even respons to healing after a stab faster dan kratos. sometime he does nt even know if he was stab at all eg dmc 3. episode( fight 4 d pizza). but i love kratos brutality and dante's style and speed.

u guys ar saying dante cant kill a god, give him kratos weapon and find out, he will even do it better dan kratos. take 4 example how kratos will look with with a gun, ridiculous. dante can kill what kratos has kill, and kratos can kill what dante has killed, no big deal. dante is just faster.
