I’ve added a brand new custom profile enhancement option to the Devil May Cry Forum which allows registered members to input their very own Xbox 360 Live GamerCard details and display your total number of achievement points, recently played Xbox 360 games, your current avatar and a few other nifty statistics. Here’s a quick sneek preview:
I have been meaning to implement this GamerCard integration feature to the Devil May Cry Forum for a while now – ever since it was first introduced onto the Fable 2 Forum and Mass Effect Forum some time ago but forum template restrictions meant that it proved difficult. Also, with the somewhat recent news of Devil May Cry 4 going multi-platform, it seems like the perfect time to add some extra features that would help benefit the Xbox 360 owners in the community; before there was a much more dominant PlayStation 3 vibe coming from Devil May Cry.org which I feel needed to be rectified. Note to self: Must get round to changing the PlayStation logos in the sidebar to something a little more… multi-platform. ;)
However, after coming across the awesome My Gamer Card website, I’ve found that there is a much, much easier way of accomplishing this. With My Gamer Card’s custom Xbox Live GamerCard generator you are able to create much slimmer graphics that are not only easier on the eyes, but also a heck of alot easier to apply to the forum’s current template. Adding your GameCard to your profile is a great way of making more friends on the Devil May Cry Forums that share interests in the same games as you. You might happen to notice that the previous five games that I have played are: Spider-Man 3, Gears of War, Lord of The Rings: Battle For Middle-Earth II, Halo 3 and Crackdown; if you should happen to be interested in any of the above games and decide you might like to play a quick game with me while I’m on Xbox Live then please feel free. Halo 3 and Gears of War are both fantastic Xbox 360 multiplayer games and are always fun to play with a friend or two, or more.
How To Add Your Xbox Live GamerCard To Your Profile
In order to add your very own Xbox Live GamerCard to your forum profile and have it displayed to everyone, all you need to do is:
- Register or login to the Devil May Cry Forum
- Go to the edit profile area of your User CP
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page and enter your Xbox 360 Live username only; for instance, I would simply enter: A Randy Old Man
- When you are happy you can finish up by clicking save changes
- And you’re done!
That’s all there is to it! Simple, isn’t it? Feel free to check out a few of the following threads located in the Devil May Cry Forum to get a better idea the new GameCard feature looks – bear in mind though that with this being such a new feature, only a small handful of members are taking advantage of it. However, I don’t doubt more users will add their own GamerCard’s to their profile with time. Here are a quick handful of threads that help demonstrate:
- Post some comments in the Devil May Cry Gallery!
- Be careful what you wish for…
- Music to my ears!
- Devil May Cry MySpace Page
- Devil May Cry 3 Jump Cancelling Tutorial Video
- “Haloid”
- Song Lyrics
- New Devil May Cry 4 video
- Official Japanese Devil May Cry Anime Site
- Devil May Cry Anime forum added
- New Devil May Cry 4 Banner
- Assassin’s Creed Forum Launched!
- Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition for PS2 European Release
Well, not quite a handful… more like a bag full.
Update: I went ahead and created and thread about this latest news article; you can find it here: Add your Xbox Live GamerCard to your profile…now!
